Eris to v2.x, when?

HTC CEO Peter Chou confirmed yesterday that the HTC DROID ERIS will be receiving the latest Android 2.1 operating system.
The update will also include HTC's new Sense user interface which adds
a host of new features, including improvements in social networking,
multi-touch, and user interface updates. Verizon has to approve the update and has the opportunity to reject features, if needed. No date was specified.

as we all already know.

I would buy this phone on the eve of an update. I get a new phone every 6 months or so and drive my girlfriend nuts.. So I get a brand new shiny phone and have been poking around with it for a week (much to her dismay). Then this !! Now I'll be refreshing this thread every 15 minutes. Oh Well.

Yes, an NHL app would be GREAT! Go Pens!

I live in Northern VA now but still get just about every Pens game with Center Ice. The Directv/Versus thing screwed me up for a while but now I can get 105.9 the X on iheartradio and listen to Mike Lange and the old two-niner call the Versus games on my Eris.
I'm not sure what I'll do if they don't fix Directv/Versus thing before the playoffs.

bingo....

we have weeks, not months, to wait....

Yeah, I think they have probably tested it quite a bit at HTC and this is the build that they have sent to VZW to test out. At this point, most of the bugs SHOULD be network and connection related. I say should simply because we all know what happened with the youtube app.

That also proves that whoever is doing the testing at Verizon does not do a good job. Therefor, they probably will find no bugs, since they suck at testing and we get a release shortly.

No, I don't think the last update was really tested all that much by Verizon. I think it was tested primarily by HTC and they only looked at the resolutions to the problems they were trying to fix.

Just to play devils advocate. You Tube may have made change that the limited code on the handset couldn't cope with subsequent to testing. I am a network engineer and if I had a dollar for everytime I tested something for months only to roll it out and have it crash and burn a week later......well you see what I am saying.

But hey whatever gets it out the fastest.

youtube was broken on purpose, you guys just dont listen.

NKT, does youtube app work on 3G (im sure this has already been asked)
