Eris to v2.x, when?

That is my hope too. I'm not all that interested in custom roms or anything like that. I just want to be able to uninstall the garbage I don't want and run apps from the SD card.

I didn't mean to be rude earlier in the thread, I'm a phone geek too, and just as psyched as everyone else here about getting 2.1. Just trying to inject reality into some of the bizarre speculation, which you weren't even a part of. You were just the first to reply to my post.

I didn't take it as rude at all. No worries. :D

I'm in the same boat. I may play with a custom ROM or two a little, but eventually I would just want to remove the garbage apps. I do have one question though about app2sd. I do not fully understand linux, but if I understand correctly, android applications don't install in the same manner as windows mobile applications. There is no registry popluated with configuration information and the android application folder is essentually equivilant to a stand alone .exe in windows. Can someone enlighten me if I am wrong?

If I'm right, then does that mean I can install an app to the SD card and simply put that SD card into a new android phone and have everything function properly? (assuming the new phone is rooted and has app2sd capability).

I went to my local Verizon store in Atlanta today and was speaking with one of the reps about the two Droids about to drop. He said that the Eris models they have and were trained on are all running Android 2.0 software with the full Google voice and navigation like the Moto Droid. This is different from everything I have seen with the Eris running Android 1.5. Anyone else heard this?
Funny that when I bought my Eris the sales rep told me it's the same as the droid except the turn by turn navigation "doesn't talk to you." Either he was way off point, or he was in fact trained on something running 2.0... Maybe?

lol... look at the date of that post... 11-02-2009

dont consider anything in the thread, with exception of the last few pages, to be true at all

Ummm, no.

They've received many awards for customer satisfaction and call quality. So if you think they're bad, try another carrier and see for yourself...

"Bu Capan, Im Given Her all I con" - was joking; you must be stressed from all that testing your doing---

Truly-Sincerely, sorry if I offended, it was not my intention; I know there are people who get on here and intentionally insult and incite others, this was not my intent at all; Please forgive-I know how I would feel if someone had insulted my profession or place of work; I honestly am sorry and feel bad for my transgression-Take Care, Scoty

Dude, chill- was joking; you must be all up tight with all that testing, man....

Well, since there was no sense of sarcasm in your post, one can only deduce that you were serious. Misguided, but serious.

That's the part of online forums that gets tiring. The misinformation, bs'ing, and whatnot takes on a life of it's own...

(Not that I don't use sarcasm. It's usually at least accompanied by a smiley)

The one problem I see with checking these message boards is they falsely build hype in my head. Then the update will come out and it will be... "Humph, that's what I was waiting for??" I hope not...

I have trouble with that (in my posts) still, after all these years.

I'll be totally going for laughs and I'll get a very serious response.

Oh, I know. It's been that way since I've been using the net starting in '94. Sarcasm/humor is hard to convey sometimes.

A vast array of smileys can help. But it's more fun to think that I'm understood in the post as-is.

Anyway, back to the ridiculous topic:

I revised the original; and yes it is sincere-My persona and profession does not allow me to be intentionally mean or nasty or disrespectful to others; unless it is in return; then I just can't help myself :D

I do yet have a professional question-will 2.1 fix the issue of voice dialing from a blue tooth device? I was originally told by my Verizon Customer Service Rep that this would be fixed by the December 11th update, Then the January 22nd update, and so on..I feel as if I have been strung along. Do you have any information on this? Thank you kindly for your advice. As always, Take Care, Scoty

I heard 2.1 will allow us to show voice flexions, intonations, and facial recognition so there won't be any more misunderstood ribbing vs. true disrespect! I can't wait for that upgrade!!!:o:):p:rolleyes::D;):confused:

Some people have lived on Earth for fifty years without a phone telling them where to go. Now they need to have it. I understand, though, that many careers require Google Goggles, especially physicians who may be wondering if that is indeed the anus or a vagina. Rolling them in flour and looking for a wet spot just doesn't work anymore.

No worries :)

I tried hooking my old Moto H605 but there's no voice dial via BT.

Thats easy, one has the "LITTLE MAN IN THE BOAT" and one doesn't

NKT answered this a few pages ago. He tested a bt headset and it didn't do voice commands.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't she NKT already reponded. Wasn't trying to be a dick or anything.
