Eris to v2.x, when?

Dude...step off that ledge. You have let all of this really get to you. I'd love to see an update and even more so, root but dang man...let the anger go before you end up in court ordered anger management.
 
I want 2.1 so my phone will be top of the line. Doesn't it upgrade it to a Snapdragon processor, make the screen 3.7 in. and give me free service?
I just want it because I don't HAVE it right now!
 
I have a basic question--not to be too facetious; are we on here to really find out about 2.1 anymore-nothing we can do about it anyway-its been so long** or is it just 'banter-ous' entertainment now? I think the later is starting to take over...I think I just ran over a Kitten...Rats |8!) I do enjoy this more for the entertainment than the informative.
 
I just got my Eris about 2 weeks ago. Did some searching for some apps and came across this forum. That's when I learned about 2.x. This is my first "smartphone" and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I was completely against even getting it until my son (9) started jacking with it at the store. For the price, we couldn't beat it. Iphone was in no way an option as AT&T service sucks around here with service.

I didn't and don't expect my phone to do everything that I can do on my laptop. After all, it is a phone. As far as not being able to wait for 2.x, I can wait. It'll give me time to figure the phone out and then when it hits, I'll have more stuff to figure out.

No one's on the ledge. If anyone's angry, it's those that came into this thread asking why another 2.1 thread was started elsewhere and were pissed about that. I just gave them answers. Why this board is in such a chaos. I thought my posts were clear in saying I was at peace with it all and didn't care if it came out or not. Instead, I may have moved on to the numbnuts on the board that keep beating a dead horse. Yes. You read it right.
 
Well I dont know about you guys, but I like most all of you here and I'm not gonna let some asses keep me from communicating with other people who share the same interests as me. As loud, foul-mouthed, and irritating as sma- I mean they can be I still have been able to enjoy this thread along with all the other hopefuls out there waiting for 2.1 and just flat out enjoying their Eris. Keep on truckin guys, usually the annoying trolls fall off once they get tired of being a-holes, or when everybody stops responding to them; whichever comes first.

I'm here because I love my Eris. Why are YOU here?
 
Well...I have to say that I do enjoy my Eris as well or I wouldn't swing by here at all. I was into the hysteria of 2.1 for a while but got off that trail as a die-hard a while back. Well, I should say as a die-hard as measured by cell phone fans since I would be considered a die-hard by people in my life just because I frequent a cell phone forum at all. Oh well...that's the geek in me. My point is that I don't lose sleep over this update but I do check in a couple of times each day just in case there's some news that I don't want to miss out on.

Nope. He always retained the rights because IBM didn't see the full value of the OS. He'd originally purchased DOS from an independent developer.

Check out Pirates of Silicon Valley. It's about Gates and Jobs and how it all got started. Pretty interesting!

Agreed, I love my Eris, have very few issues with it at all, and cant wait for 2.1. The addition of the updated navigation, some more multi-touch action and the current small bugs being fixed is enough for me quite honestly.
 
One more thing that you guys who are ogling the Nexus ought to keep in mind: in a few months many of you are going to start daydreaming about a phone that includes an LTE band. Personally, I might hold off for a device with that, to save having to upgrade again.
 
Droid Eris Needs 2.1 Now!

Yeah its another "i talked to a guy link" but the part that sucked is when i read "The Update will be available within the first six months of this year, very possibly within the next few weeks." Talk about leaving a buffer just in case.

LOL, its like the weather man saying you can expect to see anywhere between 1/2" to 2 feet of snow...so be prepared!

I'm here because I love my Eris, typing on it right now, and I love learning about all the cool things I can do with it. I'm checking in here to see when I might get the update, just because I know there's some apps I can't get yet. I've got enough to keep me busy right now though!
