I just got off the phone with Verizon and they say that they have changed the 2.1 roll out method. They are now going to send out the update OTK (over the kitten). The only thing the reps are concerned about is the mass kitten genocide that keeps occurring because of these threads. If you guys keep it up there will never be an update.
If they used bunnies it would be faster!
FWIW....I just spoke to Verizon about the update. The guy said HTC told them May 15th or 16th.....
Bad first post...........
Just relaying what I was told..thats all...
Oops.. sorry, it's not a sticky, but is posted in just about every day so remains near the stickies:

Why would you post such relevant information in this thread?![]()

No offense to these two posters (because it's done by dozens of others here as well) but these statements mean add nothing. Let's classify this as a pet peeve of mine.
Sales reps know what they have to know for their job. They are not R&D, Tech Support, Product Development, PR or Engineering. It's nonsense to ask and then berate them because they don't know the answers to questions outside of their area of expertise.
As far as battery life. That is not a question of "good" or "bad". Every battery has a specific output and it is what it is. If you only keep the phone in standby and do a couple of calls a day, your battery will obviously last longer between recharges. If you have 7 screens full of constantly updating widgets, surf the web, run Pandora, use navigation, latitude, etc., you will obviously need to recharge more often. It's not a question that has a subjective answer. If you want to go further between charges, reduce your usage or get a battery with more output.
Seriously though, it is a smart phone and it is designed to run and it is going to use the battery. To me, buying a smartphone and complaining that the battery doesn't last all day with heavy usage is like buying a Lamborghini and complaining that it doesn't get the gas mileage of a Prius.

Little follow up..
so since verizon has been tuggin on my balls since day 1, I decided to call HTC. Guess what they told me....thats right, they dont have a date they have no idea...WTF is this shit. Look, if they are having problems with it then just say so. Dont keep giving out false information, all that does is piss ppl off.
Yes, I still own an Eris, but have moved back to my Moto Droid and now to my Incredible. Sorry to say guys but we just got an update already, and the phone was already stellar. Not rubbing it in, just thinking that the Eris... while a great phone with some bugs, may always have the bugs. Just don't see it getting the support as the other phones are much more popular and newer. Good luck everyone, this is probably one of the best communities on the net. Keep your heads up.

It is to fix a2.1 problem with exchange. Eris didn't need it. Coming in here to spout off about an update that effects business users specifically on2.1 is well.... whatever.Yes, I still own an Eris, but have moved back to my Moto Droid and now to my Incredible.
