...I'll be (mumble) in March. :p  .. etc..

Ditto.

And I love how the person who started the poll stops adding the 10 year increments at 40 and older. Like as someone in their early 40s feels the same as someone who is in their late 50s or 60s (and yes, people of that age do still use phones :-) ).

I confess to not making the poll in ten-year increments over 40 because (fill in the blank).

I knew that at some point I'd have to explain that. :D

checked my drivers license and im 47...im old and forgetful...OfTheDamned you must be much much older than anybody else here since you wont answer the ? !!!!! LOL !!!

^^Haha, good one!

42, but my wife would say closer to 14 since I got the Eris........well, come to think of it, she'd probably have said that before I got the Eris as well.

I respect the "14" in people over 40 (given that it's clean, fun-loving and non-mean spirited).

25. I think we need another poll to find out what everyone is doing that allows them to be on this forum all day. =)

I hope the OP doesnt mind, I am going to ask another question ... Since a majority of us are 30+ and no one has admitted to being younger than 20 ... how many people have kids younger than 18 and do they allow their kids to have a phone like the Eris? Or even a cell phone at all? At what age did you let them have one or at what age will you let them have one?

My kids are 9, 8, and 6 ... none of them have a cell phone at all and I am not sure at what age I will get them one.

My girls are 6 and 3. My wife attempted to make the 6 y.o. a promise that if she got a certain tumble down for her cheerleading she could have a cell phone....

aint.no.way.

no yet.

Heck, I don't mind what we talk about in this thread; hopefully everyone will indicate their age in the poll as I've been curious about Eris users across the board.

As it stands now, it appears to be evenly spread about 25% for each of the 10 year groups over 20. Interesting.

We need to wait for the next shift to wake up though. :D

Like Caddy, I also have young kids (6 and 4). Like him, for me that's WAY too young.

I'm old school. I'd like to think they can have a cell phone when they leave home. Otherwise, they can borrow mine when they go out so I could control their usage...

But I also realize this is not realistic in today's world. We don't have payphones everywhere like we did when I was a teenager in the 80s. If I had to guess now when I'll allow them to have a phone, it would be when they are entering their teens... and for now I'll also say it will be a phone, not a smart phone. Maybe it will have texting capabilities, but we'll see. Of course, I don't know how my view will change in the future. Depends on the kid.
