Eris will Not be getting 2.1, That's it

I for one don't care one way or the other.As long as I keep waking up on the right side of the dirt I will be fine.
 
Go buy your Incredible when it comes out, no one is stopping you. 2.1 is coming to the Eris PERIOD. I'm not wasting $500 just to get the Incredible. The Eris and 1.5 are perfectly fine and 2.1 will just make it better.

Agreed. My father was tempted to buy an eris (He liked it far more than the droid) but he would not buy a phone that didn't have handsfree/bluetooth dialing.
 
Root 1.5 so all options are possible. That's what's nice about Android vs WM. You pretty much need a new phone to get a new version of WM. VZW updated the WM Saga even though it's a dead end phone though only unlocking the gps and kinetic scrolling. The Eris is not in so nearly a dead position. Heck people are still updating G1s.
 
sometimes I think these 2.1 threads should just be deleted immediately. total PITA from a forum admins perspective I should know I am one at another site. but all these threads seem to create is flaming trolling and all out general deuschbaggery.
 
I have seen no proof, except from OTD, that can confirm this. All you say that you have some "sources" in VZW. As far as I'm concerned you're just teasing members. Mods?

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I'm sure I'm not the only one coming on here for info. For obvious reasons these kinds of things are only known to a limited few before release. I've been lurking on here since I got my Eris back in Jan.

I wish I could share more but company policy forbids it. When people leak things they do so while risking their jobs. I'm not willing to take that chance.

More times than not I find things here first before I hear them internally.

By the way we did get an internal memo that I pretty sure was made public. It promised that the Eris would be updated in Q1 2010 to a newer version of Android. So I like everyone else am anxiously waiting.

Yes I know. In fact I never expected it to be on time. I'll be surprised if it happens in the next 2 months but you never know.

I figure I'll wait a couple more weeks then I'll install the leaked version.

No sense in getting caught up in all this update mess there are more important and fun things I could be doing. After all it is just a phone.
