Root erm...hoax?

As the title says, is this a hoax, or am I just too noobish to understand that other phones running gingerbread can be rooted.

nope not a hoax. however, with the latest gingerbread ota for the evo, htc closed up the gingerbreak exploit. so if you have have 2.3.3 installed on your phone then you still have to wait. when the exploit is found and we get root with the new hboot, you will know. there will be a sticky on it and 1000 or so threads on it as well. just posted here and you will know when it happens.
