Root Error code 67 on EVO 4g on Boost Mobile

Back to fixing problems. I recently bought an EVO 4g flashed to Boost on Ebay to replace an identical one that was stolen. Upon arrival it was basically as stock as it gets aside from it being flashed to boost. I then rooted it and flashed a ROM over along with the a2sd.

When connecting to the internet after a few minutes of being connected the internet cuts out and usually I get an error code 67 message. I am not 100% sure but I think this was happening from the beginning before flashing the new ROM.

I have done a system update and a PRL update and neither has helped. I did the ##3282# thing and changed it to CDMA only instead of automatic. This only gave me 1x (no 3g) but it did cure the problem. If I want 3g I have to select automatic and then it constantly cuts out.

Does anyone have any clue what I could possible do to fix this? It is driving me bonkers!!!

Thanks for the help. If you had to guess would you think it is a configuration issue or something may be wrong with the ROM or how it was rooted? That being said I also understand that you may have no clue.

Error 67 is a data error. You phone is flashed but your data is going in and out, causing the error. Most probably you're having the issue because the profiles are not programmed in properly or have been faked.

Call/text should be working fine. Now the question becomes do you have the original donor phone that was used on this phone or the previous phone?

No number of profile/prl updates will help you. A profile cannot be faked completely, you're just using another phone's profile to get on the network. Problem is that another person using the same (faked or legit) profile is on the same tower as you causing your (or both your) phones to get that error. Only way to completely eradicate that issue is to have your own profile 0 that you do not share with anyone else.

Keep me posted.

That is very helpful information. Unfortunately I do not have the other donor phone so that causes me quite the problem. I do have an Icognito here that I coincidentally used as a backup when I was waiting for this one to arrive. Perhaps I am best off just trying to figure out how to pull the info from that phone and use it.

Without the donor we're in a bit of a mess. You can use the guide and make the incognito that you have in your possession the donor.

That would be best as that would eliminate you having to rely on someone else and if something should go awry you can fix it down the line. Refer over to the other thread that you're posting in and post your issues there. There's multiple eyes watching that thread and we'll all help you out together. Good luck.

My EVO 3d is flashed to boost. I have the donor phone, but someone recently activated it not knowing it would interupt the data on my phone. They canceled service on my donor phone but I'm still getting error 67. Do you know how to fix it?

You have the donor and you gave it to someone else to use!!!

Reclaim your donor. Make sure it is not activated on an account (other than yours obviously). If it is then you neet to get it off that account. On your phone dial ##msl#. You want to edit. It'll ask for your MDN and your MSID. Put in 000 000 1234 for both. Commit it. It is going to reboot. When it is going to come back up it'll do OTA activation. It should reinstate the phone back to normal.

If it doesn't then you need to reprogram the phone. Do not do the ##786# reset. That'll definitely not work without reprogramming.

Good luck.

PS: The whole point of having the donor is so that NOBODY ELSE CAN USE IT BY MISTAKE!!!

Since you're a new user I'm going to ask you... What is the MSL to your device? Are you putting in ##msl# or are you putting in ##TheSixDigitMSLToYourPhone#?

If you're doing it right and cannot get it to work the rom you have on your phone might not support EPST. You'll need to install a Sense based ROM. Try MikG 3.1 (not 3.11) or even a stock non-rooted rom. Just make a nandroid backup and then wipe and then flash the stock rom do the ##msl# and get your phone back working and then restore your backup.

None of the AOSP based roms have the necessary EPST to get this working and I've noticed that even thought MikG 3.11 is good and has EPST it doesn't have it reliably. YMMV.
