Help Error when trying to install the DI18 update

I get an error in the Android recovery screen <2e>:

asser failed: apply_patch_check("BML:boot:..random characters and numbers..)
E: Error in /cache/6d053faea71a.update-SPH-D700_DI07ToDI18.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Anyone else having issues applying the update? Any ideas what the issue here is?

What baseband are you currently on?

this is the official pushed version or the xda version?

Kernal 2.6.29
Build #: SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI07
Hardware version: D700.0.5
Firmware version: 2.1-update1

What would the xda version look like?

I had the same issue with my epic. I hit the install button. It started to install then I got a error. An the phone rebooted. Still has the D107 software on my epic after the reboot.


I do I re install a OTA update?

I did a full cache wipe and hard reset via the recovery console, and still got the error.

I finally got fed up and angry, and flashed the phone to stock DI18 manually via Odin. *OFFICIAL* SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL.tar.md5 - xda-developers

Worked like a charm.

Now onto rooting and stuff.
