I prefer a file manager with dual panels, like Solid Explorer. Love how it integrates Drive, Dropbox, smb and ftp without the need for any plugin.

I have used both and prefer EStrongs. I like the interface better and I like the integration with LAN and Cloud sources.

Estrongs is my favorite but it doesn't work in Dropbox. Dropbox only seems to work with Astro.

EStrongs most definitely does work with with Dropbox and seemlessly, I might add. It also integrates GDrive, Skydrive and several others.

I use both apps and didn't know there was anything special between the two. Perhaps you might write up a HowTo? Id be interested. I love learning new things about what I can do with my phone. :)

I prefer File Expert. It's not the prettiest, but it allows you to work easily with your cloud files, plus it has easy links to all of your apks, all of your videos, and all of your zip files.

I have been having problems with the "backup Apps" feature in Astro. Does ES backup apps? BTW...why are some apps locked from Astro backup?

EStrongs for me as it supports WebDav. However there is a bug that they cannot fix that means that files with a 4 figure suffix cannot be moved or copied eg .flac
