Root Evil Eris 2.0 with OC and Apps2SD is Here!

is there anything special i have to do to have my apps installed on the sd card... i just switched to using this rom today from using a different rom mainly because i want to free up the internal space... i am seeing that a lot of people are having over 150mb free... i only have a few apps installed and my internal memory is sitting at 138mb... i did the partitioning just like it was described, after flashing the rom and rebooting i went to market and downloaded mybackup then restored all my apps... did i do something wrong? should i be able to see the apps on my sd card if i connect my phone to my computer with the usb cable and mount the sd card? thanks for any help

I think it just depends on the app. Make sure you've followed the instructions and then maybe try installing a few more programs to test it out!

dont worry about it being lower than 150, not sure why, but i think it varies for each person. ive had as mucha as 159MB and as low as around 120MB but right at this moment i am at 153. just last night it was 148. you will see some fluctuation, so dont worry about that.

using mybackups isnt that great of an idea. i dont think you will be able to get updates. i recommend setting up your phone the old fashioned way the first time you do it.

sorry to hear about your issue. anything i can do to help, or did you get it all worked out finally?

alright well i just wanted to make sure that that was fine... and mybackups seems to work fine for me because i made a backup after i rooted my phone and did a restore on a rooted phone... it has problems if you make a backup on a nonrooted phone and try to restore on a rooted phone it will have the issue of not being able to update like you said

yea i ran into the problem of not being able to update in the market when i first rooted my phone so i had to go through and find all the apps i wanted and download them like i first got the phone... but now that i backup with my rooted phone i have no problem

Good news!
Overclocking will soon be working. Framework posted on xda that they will soon have it up and running.
of course i will post it on here the minute i see it :)

i flashed Lightning Rom, but restored EE2 backup almost immediately. I like the blue more than the red. Anyway, I am starting to get some lag now. And it drives me crazy. I think I need to reflash and start over. Any suggestions? It gets really annoying that I have dialer lag again. Haven't seen that since I rooted.

BTW apps2sd isn't foolproof when wiping and installing new ROMs. While all of the apps were there, I had to reinstall Swype and Google Shopper. It seems they required something that is lost in the wipe.

If I could save the "scenes" (icon placement on the 7 screens) onto this hidden partition, that would be even better.

i know, swype FCs after flashing and needs to be reinstalled. but would you rather re-install AND only have around 60MB of free internal memory or do you prefer my way? :p

got my problem fixed. started to FC when i went into manage applications in the settings. wipe'd everything. data, dalvik, sd card, battery, and rotate settings. repartitioned sd card, reflashed EE2. everything works great now.

glad it worked.

awwwwwww he had to install 2 apps. i use quite a few apps, so if i just had to install 2 instead of having to install 30 like a normal ROM flash would cause, i would be perfectly fine with it. don't whine about having to install 2 apps. just deal with it and be grateful you didn't have to reinstall them all.

will not be posting for a while, i have to do a wipe of my OS and reinstall

if you need anything, direct your questiong to jrussel and he can relay them to me. or feel free to email me, kenkyger@gmail.com

Anybody else having phone call issues with this rom? I just got around to rooting my phone the other day and have tried out Aloysius V9 and EvilEris and with both roms I've had issues where people can't hear me on calls. if someone calls me I'll pick it up and theres nothing but silence. Same thing if I try calling out, the phone timer will run but the phone never rings, just silence. It doesn't happen every call but enough to be annoying. Never had the issue when running 1.5FW, not sure if this is common to all roms running off the 2.1 FW.

I have not heard of that problem. I have used Aloysius v9 (very nice rom) as well, and didn't have any of those issues. I am currently on EE2 (with apps2sd) and haven't had the problem. I would say it was a hardware issue, but since it was working on 1.5 I am not sure. I remember reading where it was happening on the 2nd leak, but not on any of these Roms. I would check out the XDA threads on the specific roms. xda-developers That should shed some light.

However, right now I am having an issue with my home keys not lighting up. I am rebooting right now to see if that helps. I just did a reflash of EE2 earlier and they were working fine then.

nevermind. guess I just thought they worked previously. Just found out they never did with this Rom. Still my fav. tho. I love the blue.

I was having similar problems, read link below and see if this helps. I have not any trouble after. Hope this helps. (forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6137989&postcount=23)

Thanks, I actually saw that the other day and tried it but mine was already set to the correct setting. Guess i'll play around with it some more to see if I can get things working correctly.

reinstalled my OS and my usb drivers are working fine, and i am able to run *nix commands again without being bombarded with permissions issues.
will be able to do some custom work of my own now finally.

lol i wasn't complaining, I was just informing, in case it wasn't known so it isn't a surprise to anyone else. If my word choice made it look like I was whining, I apologize.

BTW, *edit* Ivan got OC to work, but only with the non-apps2sd version of EE2. There's some kernel wonkiness that makes the two clash (at the moment). I wanted OC more than apps2sd, so i switched. Hopefully soon we can have both!

And google maps is awesome at 767mhz, so is SNES emulator. :p

the evil eris kernel is NOT overclocked people.

as soon as framework releases it with the OC kernel i will post it.
or if i can pull the OC kernel and get it working on the EE then ill post that too.

OC is coming, but not for a few more hours either way

Ivan's patches are available here: https://www.ferrobyte.com

v17 has the max set to 767MHz, v18 is fixed at 710MHz.

You don't have to use them. These were made by Ivan, I just collected them.

Been running this way for a few hours now, it's sweeeeet!
