My HTC Evo 4G suddenly died for no reason at all. The battery was very very low and I turned on the phone. Then I kept it on the table and went around to look for the charging cable. When I returned with the cable, the phone was off. I tried connecting the cable but no LED ot any indication that it is charging. I tried switching it on again but no use. It does nothing, nothing at all, no blinks, no lights or anything. I left the battery out for a day or two, then inserted the battery and tried to charge, still no luck. I tried different charging cables and wall chargers, no luck. Also tried to charge the battery directly by applying appropriate voltage, and did not work. I have no idea now what the problem is. The phone is out of warranty and there is no insurance.
The phone is rooted and the firmware is stock.
