Root Evo 4g streaming issues???

Okay, here goes: yesterday I started recieveing a notification that the HTC Evo's have a know problem with streaming. Having rooted my phone just one day earlier :), I know that I shouldn't OTA update anything until it's becomes root friendly. Here's were the story get's a little more complicated, today my wife used my phone to go shopping, she noticed the notification and called the Sprint customer service number per the notice directions. Sprint send a signal to correct this "known problem" and now it wants me to update my PRL Profile.

My question is this: can I update the profile without it interfering with my root? I'm I crazy, or did this happen the day AFTER I rooted my phone and AFTER I happened to purchase Rom Manager & Titanium Backup? Sounds fishy if you ask me...

Believe it or not it should just be a coincidence that this happened the day after you rooted your evo. That error notification is sent because of the amazon mp3 application and if you call Sprint, they simply do a profile/prl update or tell you to do it. Updating profile and prl will not have any negative impacts on your root. The only thing you really want to avoid is accepting the ota system upgrades.

So go ahead and update your profile/prl. There is no problem with that.

Here is a small, semi-informative thread about this same notification over at XDA from a few days ago.

The streaming fix is not merely updating your prl and profile (always in that order) it involves removing the http proxy settings.
