Hello all,

I feel like i'm so close. Both phones were accidentally on at the same time for a night. Donor phone still works fine though when the evo3d is off, both are not on at the same time anymore. Once i confirm that the evo3d is still not working, i do have to revert back to the incognito, but the evo3d gets shut off first.

Went through this guide and I can get everything working (3G data & MMS) except the ability to make calls. I get the following message:

"Your account could not be validated, please contact customer services. [repeats in spanish]. Message 5, Switch 262."

Here's what i've done so far (in the order done):
-phone was rooted by a friend using htc's website
-used QPST EFS to copy file 0 and 1943
-used Winhex to edit 0 & 1943 to match the donor's identifiers
-copied the new files back using QPST EFS
-verified the new ESN/MEID is correct using QPST, CDMS workshop, & QXDM
-used QPST service programming to change the following values to match the donor:
NAI for prof
NAI for prof 1
HA SS in Hex for prof (12 char in hex)
AAA SS in Hex for prof (26 char in hex)
HA SS in Hex for prof 1 (12 char in hex)
AAA SS in Hex for prof 1 (12 char in hex)
Ident>AOC from 0 to 9
CDMA-2>CMDA>IMSI_S to match the donor
AMPS>Phone Number to match the donor
-made active user 0

Info on phone:
Android Version: 2.3.4
HTC Sense Version: 3.0
Software Version: 2.17.651.5
Kernel: 2.6.35.13-g277012f
Baseband Version: 1.06.00.1216
Build Number: 2.17.651.5.CL245066
PRI Version: 1.42_003
PRL Version: 01102

Troubleshooting attempted:
-##786# flashed back to factory
-Tried to run RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.exe, but encountered an error, probably b/c the phone is still unlocked. Error message cited something about the lock status
-Update profile
-Update PRL list
-Verified the following on the phone:
-Settings>About Phone> MEID, IMSI, Phone Number, Current username
-##786#> MEID (Hex), ESN (Hex), Mobile Number, MSID
-Called Boost cust srv, they had me check the following:
*update profile
*edit MDN to match phone number
*edit MSID to match MSID
*attempted to do a firmware update
*attempted to do a profile update again

Things i saw that I'm curious about
##786#> PRI Checksum = 00000000 - is this right?
QPST srv. prog>Settings>Auto NAM is unchecked, while on donor it is checked
QPST srv. prog>Settings>Field Service is blank, while on donor there is a value

Any and all help would be much appreciated. hopefully i dont have to unroot the phone just to update the Radio, but it is what it is.

Wish I had seen this guide earlier, I did about 1/2 of what was needed by gathering tidbits of info form here and there before i found it.

thank you!

PS. can anyone confirm what is required for voice/data/mms to work? I get the feeling that the data is allowed by changing the profiles in the Service Programming and MMS is allowed by entering in the URL. What is needed to only get voice working? Just cloning the ESN/MEID?

You have 2 choices to get voice back working, listen to the entire error message it should be error 16, it will transfer you to a representative they will ask you about your phone(donor phone info is what you give them) they will refresh the system.
Or second you can just go to the boost website sign in and go to the update phone tab, if you have another boost esn you can switch it to for 5 to 10 mins then switch back to the donor esn then it will work.
It does the same thing refreshes the system.

I tried waiting on the line after the message, it just disconnects the call. Doesnt mention anything about the error 16 though, unless i'm deaf.

I'll try going to the website and using the update phone tab, getting another ESN may be tricky, but i may be able to get one somewhere. Does it matter or will any boost mobile CDMA work?

Thank you very much for your help, it is greatly appreciated! :D

Guys quick question, my lil sister found a phone which was flashed to metropcs. She would like to use the phone with metropcs, my question is will she be able too or did the phone get black listed? please let me know.
...liiiike...fell off a truck, found? hope not. if the phone is flashed to metro pcs, then she just has to activate it. just dial *611 from any mpcs handset (which it sounds like this one is) and follow the instructions or take it into a store for activation. and....there's no black listing or anything. listen..when you start a metro account, you don't give identification or credit checks or anything like that. so, don't worry about the phone and it's good/bad esn. that's not important to metro (....all esns are good here...and if they're not, we MAKE them good..more or less)

Hey guys thanks for the feedback and sorry that I didnt explain myself. The lil sis bought the phone off craigslist with the intention to flash it over to metro but I noticed that the phone was already metro flashed and rooted. Just wasnt sure if she was going to be able to activate it but it seems like were going to be ok.

You can usually find an esn online, howard forums has a thread dedicated to start up esns. any boost mobile will work.

thank u so much for helpen,, im stuck again..lol ok i got in nvm/num/and i cant copy or move any of the files out to desk top,any ideas
try dragging and dropping to the desktop.

If it does not work you may have to verify if you have S-Off on the bootloader screen.

THANK YOU!!

I unassociated my MEID with one off howard forums and then re-associated my MEID and it works!!!! Now I understand why there are explicit instructions to never turn on the donor phone.

Would it be a valid assumption that the carrier not only takes note of the ESN/MEID when activating a phone, but other things aswell? Do we know what those other things are?

your welcome.
I am unsure which events they take note of. I do know that it sometimes seems the oddest(to me) things that causes my carrier to decide there is a problem.

for example my phone had been working for months I had not turned on the donor but I did help a guy with his phone over the net and in the process I ran through some of it with my phone as well soon enough I got that error and had to fix it.

glad I read that. Seems like exactly the kind of silly mistake I'd make without even thinking twice about it

I have already zeroed out the MEID and I'm stuck on the ESN I have been working at this for a week. Is there another way to get the ESN? I tried CDMA but when I go to the ESN location and click "write" after changing the drop box, I get the error "ESN length/syntax error". What does that mean? Is there an easier way to get the ESN? Oh and one of ESNs is zeroed out, the second esn is not. :banghead::stupido2:

THANKKKK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR ALLLLLLLL THE HELP!!! :D

i flashed my phone to boost , but i have a question. can the prl be updated afte flashing
? my 3g keeps going on and off and is annoying :(

You are right clicking im guessing?

Few things does your bootloader menu say S-Off? which version of android is on the phone?
I found that 2.3 is required

how do I check my bootloader? I have version 2.2, where can I get the update? will that mess up my root or anything? or mess up my zero out MEID?

Thanks

To check you bootloader version, first hit menu/settings>apps>uncheck the fastboot option..--you may not have this, if not dont worry.
Power down phone...wait a few seconds, hold volume down and press power at the same time...the screen that comes up is your bootloader screen..post that info here.
As far as updates, you can flash an updated rom if you are rooted.
