Help evo 4g update problems

Have an evo4g thru sprint. After update, when I delete messages they do not show up in my trash anymore. They are in my pc gmail, just not on my phone. Running imap thru 1and1.com host if that could be problem. Also experienced deleting messages and then they reappear as new mail. I have deleted gmail acct and readded many times. I have switched to pop3 and still no luck. Help

Were talking about the mail app correct?

Try wiping the apps cache from your manage applications screen.

Was it the latest update? For a simple security fix this update has done a lot of damage. You can try getting a cache cleaner and see if that helps. Are you using the gmail application or the stock mail app
