I hear sometime quarter 1 2011 is the next Android superphone. I know I can't wait that long, so I'm getting the EVO as soon as it is up.
Still wondering why they can't release a phone like the Epic or EVO, just without 4G. My area doesn't get it, so it would be nice to save the $10/month.
all the guys t the 2 sprints store i go to have rooted evos they bought from sprint but they rooted them after they bought them and had them like a month after they came out
what do you mean by rooted?

You may wish to take this news with a grain of salt but, a few days ago, I talked with my neighbor, a senior-level manager within Sprint product development, regarding the lack of availability of the EVO 4G to employees and Advantage Club members. She told me that she's heard that the EVO will be released to those two groups of people either in late October or early November. She believes that Sprint intends to release the Epic 4G at the same time.
In return for everyone's patience, Sprint plans to offer employees and Advantage Club members $50 off the price of either device. It's a token gesture as we've had to wait for over four months to take advantage of the EVO but it still brings down its price. The other positive, in my opinion, is that HTC and Sprint seem to have worked out many of the issues, e.g., capped frame rate, unresponsive touchscreen, etc., that many early adopters encountered.
I wish that I could say with certainty that my neighbor's report is true. Even if it is, those of us still "patiently" waiting for the EVO might still be waiting at this time next month for definitive word on the situation.
New phone may be worth checking out? Motorola device, forgot the name. Releases late oct. Nonandroid, the destroyer of the BB devices, release price is $750 (if upgrade eligible).
When? Mid-late october. Too who? Both account types. Additional discounts on devices? Employee accounts get additionsal $50 off for their personal accounts only. Swac (advantage) get no additional discount. New phone may be worth checking out? Motorola device, forgot the name. Releases late oct. Nonandroid, the destroyer of the BB devices, release price is $750 (if upgrade eligible).
Seriously. I have been a customer for 13 years. I have been on SWAC for a year. I have been a customer longer than most the people who have worked for the company. And, we had to wait and wait and wait. Now your telling me that only the employee gets the discount. Thats not right. If you had to wait you should be rewarded too. Swac members can just as easily go to another carrier. The discount is not that great when all you can use is feature phones and antiques. I might as well use cricket. It would be roughly the same phones and prices. And if you punish two groups for such an extended period of time you shouldn't say I know you both waited but we are only going to take care of you. SWAC members are customers too. I think that is forgotten somewhere. A lot of us mitigated our old regular accounts because we have been with Sprint forever and one of our family members got a job.
The SWAC ban should end TODAY.
