EVO availability for sprint employees and advantage club

NO PLEASE NO! Don't even think like that! We have agonized for so long that it's finally gonna happen. It's GOTTA happen! They have too many outlets online that are not running out of stock including their own for over a week now. The corporate stores are keeping then in stock, and I have been told by my insider friend that they're selling briskly on some days, 10-15 go out the door and 10-15 can be back in stock the very next day! They have them, and now it's time for them to release them to us..... Oh Please Oh Please

Does anyone know what the next high end phone from sprint will be and when it is due for release? If the Evo isnt available by the end of the month i may just want to wait for the next phone and deal with paying for a regular monthly plan.

I hear sometime quarter 1 2011 is the next Android superphone. I know I can't wait that long, so I'm getting the EVO as soon as it is up.

Still wondering why they can't release a phone like the Epic or EVO, just without 4G. My area doesn't get it, so it would be nice to save the $10/month.

Good thing for me is since I bought mine outright whatever comes out next ill still have my upgrade. Then again, if they do it anything like they did the EVO ill probably just end up buying that outright too lol.

Processor isn't as smooth/powerful as Epic, but no 4g and it DOES have a FFC! So might be to your liking.

Yeah I was thinking about the Samsung Transform, but I'd rather not have a keyboard, and I'd like the larger screen of the EVO for touchscreen typing.

all the guys t the 2 sprints store i go to have rooted evos they bought from sprint but they rooted them after they bought them and had them like a month after they came out

You may wish to take this news with a grain of salt but, a few days ago, I talked with my neighbor, a senior-level manager within Sprint product development, regarding the lack of availability of the EVO 4G to employees and Advantage Club members. She told me that she's heard that the EVO will be released to those two groups of people either in late October or early November. She believes that Sprint intends to release the Epic 4G at the same time.

In return for everyone's patience, Sprint plans to offer employees and Advantage Club members $50 off the price of either device. It's a token gesture as we've had to wait for over four months to take advantage of the EVO but it still brings down its price. The other positive, in my opinion, is that HTC and Sprint seem to have worked out many of the issues, e.g., capped frame rate, unresponsive touchscreen, etc., that many early adopters encountered.

I wish that I could say with certainty that my neighbor's report is true. Even if it is, those of us still "patiently" waiting for the EVO might still be waiting at this time next month for definitive word on the situation.

My wife, a Sprint employee of over 10 years, usually has the goods when it comes to rumors and hearsay at Sprint. She's told me in the past that many store employees get new devices before their release date for several reasons, most notable among them Sprint needs experienced salespeople to talk about newly released devices and to train early adopters.

Makes sense to me....

I could see it being released on Halloween since it's a Sunday.

starting to get my hopes up that the EVO will be available in a few weeks, the fact that its available on sprint and best buys website is a very good sign. In fact its been available on sprints website for almost two weeks.

So far all we have is here say. Nothing definite. But as VaDivot mentioned, It is a positive sign that the EVO has been in stock for 2 weeks in a row now.

When? Mid-late october. Too who? Both account types. Additional discounts on devices? Employee accounts get additionsal $50 off for their personal accounts only. Swac (advantage) get no additional discount. New phone may be worth checking out? Motorola device, forgot the name. Releases late oct. Nonandroid, the destroyer of the BB devices, release price is $750 (if upgrade eligible).

If you are correct, this would be the device...however it will be launched on verizon.

Hands-on with the Motorola Droid Pro [video]; Update: More video, more features | Android Central

Hopefully we will see something soon with the Evo since it is just a few days short of mid Oct.

No it is Sprint device, this new Motorola phone. I believe it is called Motorola Eidos, or something like that. Military specs (built), looks a lot like the BB, has a finger print scanner for security. New price out the door if you have upgrade eligibility is $750, this is not an android phone, nor a verizon. I believe the release is 10/26.

Seriously. I have been a customer for 13 years. I have been on SWAC for a year. I have been a customer longer than most the people who have worked for the company. And, we had to wait and wait and wait. Now your telling me that only the employee gets the discount. Thats not right. If you had to wait you should be rewarded too. Swac members can just as easily go to another carrier. The discount is not that great when all you can use is feature phones and antiques. I might as well use cricket. It would be roughly the same phones and prices. And if you punish two groups for such an extended period of time you shouldn't say I know you both waited but we are only going to take care of you. SWAC members are customers too. I think that is forgotten somewhere. A lot of us mitigated our old regular accounts because we have been with Sprint forever and one of our family members got a job.

The SWAC ban should end TODAY.
