EVO availability for sprint employees and advantage club

Rkster09, it appears you do not do complex. So this EVO is not built for you. You can keep the same plan on your current device, just dont upgrade to the EVO. Think of it like a car. You have a basic phone that is not anything fancy (a ford focus). You want to upgrade to a Corvette (Iphone), you pay more to do the same thing, which is drive. Those of us who want and can use the features of a lamborghini (Evo/Epic) will pay for it.

No your missing something. Your sponsor should have informed you, Your bill cycle date in October, changed your plan to $30 if you have a hero/Pre, this is not an option. This changed cause too many employees complained about not having any mobile anytime. so that is the change from $20 to $30 for Hero, Moment, Pre, etc.. You can easily verify this by logging into your sprint.com account, as October is over now, you will see the new price plan. (again this is only for devices like Hero, Pre, Pixi, BB... Devices like Reclaim, rant, lotus, etc had no plan change effect, but could upgrade if you want to in order to add the any mobile anytime feature. I deeply do apologize if your Sponsor did not inform you of this. I did mention this a few pages ago in this thread though I believe. I would personally slap them hehe..

Question for Sprint employees. I am a SWAC user, if you were my sponsor would you rather I went online to sprint.com and ordered my Evo myself and not bother you or is it necessary for me to contact my sponsor so they can order it for me?

Even though I have a sponsor, I get billed directly and never need to contact my sponsor, except when I first got on the SWAC plan.

Only your sponsor can order phones for you, so you HAVE to contact them. (If you buy it on craigslist/ebay, you just call in to do the esn swap yourself..) hope that answers your questions.... Being Swac, you pay $299 and get $100 mail in rebate.

Reactions: Evo
you were paying $20 for smartphone service (like the Hero).... it is now $30... price increase.

If you want EVO/Epic.. there is an additional $10 charge for Higher Data service.

I personally use about 35gb a month on my phone for data use, Once I get my EVO, I will be able to push out at least 50 gb a month.

really.. you use that much??

do you think that is huge hog? you work for sprint..
I thought normally they want less than 5gb..

and this type of high usage is why other carriers are ending the unlimited plan.

35gb is roughly 45 movies, I watch them on my break during lunch, at home on tv, one on lunch, one at home with the family, 2 movies a day, a total of 22 days a month roughly, not high usage at all. I of course provide internet to fellow employees at work to work, since the sprint network at work is limited... Cant even use google.com. I will be able to get rid of my cable bill and hook the EVO up to my HDTV through the HDMI port and watch regular sprint tv, same local channels just about. The other carriers are not ending unlimited plan due to high usage. They are just trying to make an extra buck before they are forced to bump their prices down here within the next 18 months.

i have a question, i just checked out the new plans. it says that you get 500 anytime minutes, but then any mobile any time is offered in these premium plans. what is any mobile any time mean?

Yikes 3+ days ordering online... Could i just goto a Sprint store and buy my Evo for 200$? Id rather spend the extra 50$ and have it in my hand tomorrow than wait 3 more days.

If you have the extra money you should have just ordered the phone at full price 5 months ago. At this point why not just wait the 3 days unless your present phone is lost or broke? (or if you have an Instinct like me I guess I can totally understand:rolleyes:)

As someone told me earlier in this thread, your sponsor has to do it, which I assume is with the i-connect service)

Yeah i just found out i cant even buy an Evo in store since its an employee acct and they wont touch it:eek:

Oh well guess ill wait 3 days and save myself 50$

I heard it got pushed back from Oct 31 to Nov 2nd now. Hesse will announce it at the Nov 1 meeting.

Called it! Now just to order at midnight!

Also placing an order from htcexpress.com for an extra 1800mah battery and wall charger. Hopefully that'll let me keep my brand new EVO juiced up and ready to go!

Effective Nov. 2 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time, employees and Advantage Club customers can place orders online for the hottest Sprint 3G/4G phones on the market!
As someone told me earlier in this thread, your sponsor has to do it, which I assume is with the i-connect service)

So... I'm confused. Can someone order at 12:01 am? Or wouldnt you have to wait until the employee(sponsor) gets to the store in the morning?

OK, let me clear this up... Employees/Swac members can ONLY AND I MEAN ONLY ORDER ONLINE THROUGH THEIR SPONSOR (meaning their sponsor must order it), Unless you are are at sprint headquarters, they actually have a built in store for employees only... That is the only store an Employee can buy a phone at. If you are not at the headquarters, Online only....

Let me clear up Pricing...... As you can see the Newsletter is posted.. SWAC Members MUST pay $299, and then they get $100 mail in rebate, the discount is for the Employee only on his personal account (aka EWD account). SWAC does not get a discount, sorry. I did mention this a few weeks ago as well, but I guess everyone forgot... The $149 amount is for the Employee only, not for people he sponsors.

Stores cannot even pull up a SWAC or EWD account. So they couldnt even tell you how much you owe on your bill.... That is how worthless stores are when it comes to purchases.

I am actually going to my work place now, so I can place the order in exactly at 12:01. The discounted phones will only last til probably 1am.

You can have your sponsor send you the link to the Advantage online ordering site. Also the 12:01 is eastern time so that would make it 9:01 Pacific time for me. Here is a copy of the email minus the link (it is specific to my sponsor so I with held it)

here's how you order phones

**Please do not reply to this message. This is an automated message from Sprint.**

***************, a Sprint employee, is inviting you to take advantage of significant savings on Sprint service through the Sprint Wireless Advantage Club.

Through this exclusive Sprint employee program, you can choose from a wide selection of Sprint devices including phones, PDAs, and Sprint Mobile Broadband Cards as well as feature-packed service plans.

Here's How It Works

Your Sprint employee sponsor ("the Sprint Employee") has chosen to send this email to you. The Sprint Employee has chosen you as someone they trust to receive a Sprint Wireless Advantage Club invitation.
The link below will take you to the Advantage Club Order Request site.
For a new account, select your Sprint device, rate plan, services and accessories.
For device upgrade or replacement orders, use this site only if you have a previously established account on the Advantage Club program.
After making your selection(s), you'll complete an account information page.
Click the "Submit to Sprint Employee" button. Your order details will be sent to the Sprint Employee via email within 24 hours.
Let the Sprint Employee know you submitted your order information so they can approve your order asap (availability and pricing is subject to change at any time).
Your employee sponsor will then need to approve your order and accept liability for your account.
Once approved by the employee, your order will be processed.
Important Note! To protect the privacy of this Sprint Employee program, this link is only good for two weeks. If you find you need to return to the site after it has expired, simply request a new link from the Sprint Employee. The Employee selected to send this link specifically to you. Because Sprint Employees own and are liable for their Advantage Club accounts, they determine who will receive this private invitation. Therefore, please do not share this email or site link with anyone else without their approval. The Sprint Employee submits the final Advantage Club order on your behalf and therefore authorizes all final order details.

***Hope this helps***

My sponsor has always sent me the link to the site so I can place the order. This way I can place the order for the phone and any accessories I want. She has offered to do it for me but I like doing it this way.
