Root EVO-holics Anonymous

Newbie
I have to admit. I am addicted to my EVO.

1. I think about it day and night.
2. Which ROM should I try next?
3. What cool apps can I find to install?
4. Which new Theme will I try next?
5. Is my phone OK?
6. How long will it last. Is my baby going to die on me??? (I think my speaker is dieing. It makes loud crackling sounds. :-( I am anxious about my phones health. My arthritis is so bad I can barely stand at times, but I'm worried about my phone.
7. Is it charged up?
8. I recently had to start wearing reading glasses. I get anxious about the thought of going blind and not being able to see my baby, (EVO).
9. Should I put the apps I use less frequently in folders?
10. Are my widgets draining my battery?
11. Are there any really useful widgets I can download?

and on and on.

I prayed to God and asked for forgiveness for idolizing my Evo. I'm being serious here. I am a Christian and believe that my EVO is partly made by the Devil as it is preventing me from doing my christian duties studying the bible and bringing people to Jesus. (Yes I have the Bible on my EVO).

I am not a sicko and don't think I need mental help any more than most people who love their EVO.

I am an EVO-holic.

I can completely relate to you Jack. I am also in the same boat(christianity and all) and mine and my wife's phones take up alot of my time. I have learned to resist the temptation to flash at will and only do it when the wife premits :)

Though I have been caught playing with my phone while watching a movie with the wife :eek:

All we can do is take it one day(rom) at a time :cool:
 
If my evo was a drink I would seriously be drunk all day and night ....seems like it always winds up in my hands no matter how many times I try to set it down.....I can't even. Watch a movie with my girl with out picking it up like 10 times

I know exactly how you feel. I use my Evo for everything so when I need to research or view a website something it ends up in my hands regardless of what I was doing prior to that.
 
ok so i guess the first step to recovery (and it is not amon ra2.3 or clockwork mod) is to admit that i'm a flashaholic. so here it is..............ummmm.........................

I really do not think i have an issue with it so far. i can always stop. ok you tell me if i have a problem. this is what i have flashed since rooted:

Hi my name is Rocky, and I'm an evo-holic, and a flash-oholic. My wife was in competition with said evo until I got the old hero re-activated for her. Now she has been assimilated. :D

It seems my addiction has lead me to begin to try to develop themes. It's slowly consuming more and more of my life.

I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.
May the lord have mercy on my soul.

Ok guys... good progress .. 1st step is addmitting we have a problem now then on to step#2 ..... finding a fix or a zip file to fix this $#%& LOL glad to know I am not in this boat by my self
 
I'm definitely an Evo-holic, I'm on my phone constantly doing everything from browsing, games and even homework at times. I even got a Nook Color which I turned into an android tablet but still find myself coming back to the Evo for everything (partially why my Nook is now on sale on eBay).

My phone is my Mjollnir. I feel lost without it and have used it to save the day... from using GPS to get us to our destination unscathed to using a search to settle a debate or locate a restaurant. You name it. I was one of those who swore I'd never even have a cell phone and now I've moved to Android and rooting and customizing and can't seem to function without it. :eek::confused:
 
OK there are more of us than we know. I just went to the nail salon for a pedi and met a girl who has an EVO too. While waiting for our toes to dry we talked about our phones and apps and flashing ROMS...
 
You guys are too much :D lol! Thanks for the laugh today. My name is Robert French, and I am addicted to all the mods and customizations available for my Evo, at one point, I was even more addicted to helping this forum. Not saying I don't like to help still but I'm so busy at work and w/ my kids, time doesn't permit like it used to.

To all the men (I use to be one till I did this) in this forum who have wives or girlfriends who think you're on your Evo too much, buy them one, or an android. Problem solved.
