Evo or Droid X

Okay so since i am accused of taking the thread off topic and i am bringing it back on topic

Complaint...

My X is not being recognized by my computer....
I have it plugged in because i want to upload some pix i took on the evo and droid x

and it is not being recognized...But the Evo is being recognized correctly

Alright after removing the usb cord from the computer like
six times i finally got it to recognize the device lol

You have confused me with someone else. You'll find no such reference made by me, you'll provide no proof of that. It never happened.

I have attempted to always maintain an even level of intellectual respect in our discussions even when I've disagreed with you - and find that characterization of me quite offensive.

I expected more of you earlymon with the "obsessed=fan girl" remark which
was very incorrect when you think and go back and think of the
last time you and i discussed this in the other thread

Either I'm having a senior moment or you're having a blonde one (to use your own term, and I can cite a reference where you so described a case of your own slip up.)

Also, i am sensing a superiority complex not only in the fact that you choose to flood your reply with such pompous, Uneccesary vocabulary and the voice in which you write in has a bit of a condescending tone to it.... but the fact you choose to use the word Iconify..Iconify who or what exactly? For what?

Your sensing mechanisms are flawed and playing the player does not equate to playing the game - that in this case, was about the corporate practices that you defended - your own words: you didn't believe that the corps were responsible for the shortages - I believe the word you used was fault.

Every thing after and besides that has been so much smoke.
 
Hey we got over 4,000 views i guess people enjoy are conversation. Unless there all R Kelly fans. Let's get back into subject now guys C'MON!!! hehe. Who's going to see Inception? I want to see Video from both phones cus i like to film whatever i see and the Evo is nice especially since i increased the bitrate .

Restart your phone sometimes the Evo does that to me.

I apologize for the incorrect characterization...I went back and looked at what i was looking for
and you were correct...i wouldn't and didn't find proof and i do apologize for that unfounded accusation

But Early mon, once again you are assuming and not using the multidimensional thinking you say that i lacked :)

I say this not rudely but too at least lighten up this debate

I said i don't think they are too blame for selling out...I don't believe you can truly measure the exact demand for a device without having a huge surplus....

I think blame should be put towards manufacturers and the networks only when it takes them forever to replenish the shortage

that was what i was saying early. You only used half of what i initially said without further inferring anything else
 
Ok folks if you do not know this then here it is Sprint and clearwire have made a deal with intel to get out of the wimax market and they are switching over to LTE enf of 2011. SO beware all evo phones are going to be worth *$$$%$*%%&. in a few month.

Also for your info. Verizon will be out with 4g data modems 4th quater and 4g phones 1 qtr. 2011, ALso thge 4g network for veriuzon is just about ready to be turned on. and will be for data by the end of the year at least I know in the SF bay area. So 4g on verizon. y bother with who knows where sprint is going wimax

This is first hand info from my close friend on the top rung of the ladder there.

Nope not going to see it. I can't get good video from my EVO, but I can take great pics. I'll post a few tomorrow.

I am always for that, as I find invective is counterproductive.

The problem is when the company takes forever to refresh the stock so they can sell more

I think HTC is slow with that then again the droid x hasn't been out for a week so they may be slow with the refresh but i don't think it is anyone's fault they are getting sold out

I'll re-iterate the salient points:
  1. The manufacturers produce what the carriers specify for demand.
  2. The carriers know exactly how long it will take increase their inventory, from time of order - they've business with the manufacturers for quite some time.
  3. Please examine your point of view - you're buying into what the carriers want you to believe - that when you and your friends are screwed, it's not the fault of those that you pay monthly, with whom you can express dissatisfaction by voting with your feet (moving elsewhere) - it's the fault of the manufacturers, hidden behind the veil. That's simply Kool Aide - don't touch.
  4. No one at the carrier offices was caught by surprise with the success of the Evo and what I'm sure will translate into similar success for the X (per the other article I've provided, that's already happening). They could have full well doubled their orders with the manufacturers - and if the demand wasn't as high as it's turned out to be, simply driven demand up with discounts and still made more actual money, as in actual number of dollars in profit.
  5. Corporate bonuses are tied to percentages and shell games.
  6. Selling out of a popular phone is not indicative of a game changer - it is indicative of business as usual. You should never expect it to sell out because it's hot.

While your belief is that you cannot measure demand without a surplus - believe me - there are a lot of ways.

The shortage is artificial. They've sold the story in the past because of other products' apparent hotness. With that success, they're simply refining the elitism and the mystique - and claiming to stockholders and corporate overlords that - based on percentages - they're right. Based on reality, it's all total bull.

You know what would be game changing?

To be able to say, yes, the Evo has only sold 400 to 600k units so far. When it's been out for 6+weeks. When the iP4 has sold 3 million in 3 weeks. And then pointing out that that 400 to 600k units were sold in a single country with Android - not in 17 countries with pent up demand after living with the iP3.

Apples are always sold out and there's always a line - if you were on the waiting list.

Evos had waiting lists before launch day and by the accounts I've read of the X supply, now they have one.

Here's what would be a game changer - for Sprint and Verizon to not imitate Apple with faux elitism, and waiting lists.

Sprint knew 6 weeks ago they weren't going to have enough Evos. The whole lack of a second flood is indicative of a shell game.

And I predict - whole cloth - with great confidence that Verizon is going to say that what's worked for Sprint will work for them.

It's just that simple.

Early, I will actually agree with you...the way you worded this.....
I understand your viewpoint a lot better now in between our wordy rebuttals and i can see where my response lacked a little more thought
