Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

should i factory reset? to get off the stuff its already restored? or nandroid restore then rom again
 
Jarako Maybe do a nandroid restore, then a full wipe, rebooting between each starting from the very beginning with your phone as fresh and clean as possible. I've noticed that I start to "collect spirits" if I try to do too much at one time, so prior to flashing I do nandroid and Titanium b/ups. Reboot (probably unneeded), then wipe, and reboot. Flash ROM, reboot. Restore Ti, reboot. Change some of my settings, reboot. Change some more, ad nauseum. Don't try too much all at once so that you can keep track of when/where problems start.

psu My copy of b5 is 155MB and b2 is 150MB. I'm guessing that you didn't get b2 in it's entirety.
 
okay, well i just did a nandroid restore, used rom manager to put on Frank, now im TI only apps, so far so good, lets see what happens.
 
You could use one of the mirrors posted above for B5, the one I posted should work (it's got like 7 different hosts with the same b5 file).

Just out of curiosity adrynalyne, who is your new host?

No rush. Also if I unzip it and edit the scripts so that a few things I like are left in will that mess stuff up? I know some of it requires more Sense than others do so I am not sure how much I can get away with. I guess I could just try it. I can't imagine not deleting something will brick my phone, should just give force closes when trying to use it right?
 
anyone else notice a problem sometimes downloading or updating apps in the market?

mine will start to download - get to 100% and then not move on to installing it

sometimes I can get it to work by canceling the download, exiting out of the market, going back in and trying to install it again other times I'll have to reboot the phone in order for it to finally install an update

Yes, I've experienced the same issue and the same fixes you use applied to me as well. Not sure what the problem is.
 
The only market issue I ran into was I was going to buy an app (never done it before) and it had a server issue trying to save my card. Happened in multiple locations at multiple times of day. I dig appbrain though. I finally got it and it has helped me keep track of my downloads and quickly re-install them on a new Rom. Still takes a minute to set everything up but eh it works.



ADRYN, I don't know if it is some mods I have done or what I don't seem to have SU permissions for everything. It may be a lack of understanding on my part but if I try to fix permissions in Rom Manager it says I am not authorized. SU allows me in and allows me to do stuff but when I do that it says I am not allowed, also ADB I kept getting you do not have sufficient permissions on the device (pushing fonts over to see what happens and I totally dig it) finally worked doing ./ infront of it. Perhaps a Linux VS Microsoft thing but seems like everyone talks about just typing in adb push yadda yadda. I don't seem to have su on my computer if I try to su it doesn't recognize my password so I have to sudo every command in an su window. Pain in the butt but what can you do.

Is that something with the ROM manager? Like perhaps I should have one but for some reason (maybe app brain) I have another perhaps my SU and my Rommanager don't match. Just not sure. May just be that you already set them properly don't know.
 
Hrm I also just noticed my internal storage doesn't seem to be mounting - just my SD card when I connect to a computer

Considering the little riskier way is something I am familiar with I think I will try that. Not sure how I would do the other unless you mean with the OS running which seems frightening for some reason. Also I haven't seen a way to run a file from clockwork. Perhaps I am missing something it seems to only want to run zips.


EDIT Syntax Error in Update Script Installation abandoned.

Didn't mess with it only erased the lines I didn't want removed.


Fixed it. The Update Script had
Set_Perm 0 0 04755 blah blah I can't remember

I took out the 4. It installed. Now I just have to run it and hope it works.


Final Edit if anyone is listening.

After removing the 4 and tweaking the script. It all worked. I left in some widgets that can only be used on Rosie so removing Rosie means they are floating around somewhere but aren't useable. So sad. Oh well. Flashlight still works and I still have the option to share to flickr. I haven't tried it because I don't have any pictures currently but interesting tweak. Not the same launcher you were using but this ADW I suppose. I kind of like it actually. I didn't know I could tweak those two buttons next to the app drawer. Nice. I will still probably load Home++ or Launcher Pro but Thanks dude.

Totally worth the money I dropped you. LOL. Also, now I learned a little something about Roms and if I want to De-sensify something I like of yours. Now I can. Beautiful.

I love that Sense UI is named Rosie. Reminds me of the AC/DC song Whole lotta Rosie. LOL. It sure is. Anyway I may do a restore tomorrow or this weekend sometime and re-do my version of the Senseless hack. Now I have it I guess it doesn't matter but I think this is the way to go. Instead of wrapping it all up just create a Full Rom and make this hackjob available.

Only thing was the last thing it said before it was done was that it didn't recognize the command set_perm_recursive blah blah. Does that mean the permissions haven't been removed from my system folder?
