Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

I was coming from 2.1 and it seems slightly bigger than the default...

Also the sms app seems to take a lot of room on the screen. This could be something different in 2.2, but just something I noticed.

On the positive side so far stable, and I have loaded almost all of my apps. Quadrant score is also up to 1100 from 560 on 2.1.

No this is because its the Evo apps, and framework, not the Dincs...

If this is for me. I edited. Suweet. Thanks. The permissions issue was in the Set_perm command 0755 was 04755 or whatever the number actually is. Worked like a charm except the recursive wasn't recognized in the end but that didn't stop it from running. I was a little surprised after it ran at what was gone and what remained. I kept the lock screen I liked it, Flickr seems to have remained but I haven't tried it. News and Weather remained I don't think I excluded that I guess it just wasn't part of the removal list but no worries I might actually use it. Contacts widget I excluded but can't use, and the settings widgets that I liked I excluded but can't use. Aside from that all is well.

OK, lmk see if I understand this. In order to make this work, you unzipped the script zip, opened the update-script with a program like notepad, removed the 4 from 04755, then rezipped the package and applied the zip to the b5 update. Is this correct?

ok then that pretty much confirms my theory that it is just with this particular theme that phone storage does not mount. oh well :|

Like I said, I didn't notice until someone else mentioned it. I don't use the phone storage so never before had a reason to look. That is why I can't say if it happened before the theme or not.

I will look at the script and correct it.

Rebooted and just used it to nav home from work. Not sure what the deal was there but I'm chalking it up to a fluke. I'm trying hard but still have yet to find a problem with this Rom. Really liking it.
I'm thinking this is going to be my everyday Rom for a while:D.

I'm not a flashoholic - really I'm not:rolleyes::D:rolleyes::D

At least until Sunday that is:D:D:D.

I got a random reboot while trying to record a 720p video.. got about 4 seconds in, i haven't got to try it again yet.

i try installing this, and its saying application not installed

i was trying to upgrade, i uninstalled, then re installed, works great.

Let me see if I can clarify. Cause I am not sure we are talking about the same things. The Vanilla Script he gave wouldn't load for me. I did two things. I excluded some rm scripts because some of the things he was removing I like the main thing is Rosie has to go for me personally some widgets apparently go with it because they require Rosie to load cause there were I guess 2 I wanted to keep. They didn't uninstall but they don't show up either so bugger. But I successfully kept Flickr by excluding it from the RM list. None of that mattered though because the Update Script kept giving me a syntax error. So I systematically googled all the commands in it to learn what it all means. I kept coming across 0755 as the mode and noticed this one had 04755. I confirmed my hunch that there was a typo or something when I looked at the Vanilla Script I think it is that has the recursive script and it was 0755 so I figured remove the 4. When I did that it loaded properly. For some reason though when I ran the Vanilla Script (from ADB cause no matter what I did I couldn't figure out how to run it the other way) I got a set_perm_recursive not recognized error but everything ran fine.

notepad will not work. On windows I didn't find anything that would. I am sure there is something I just don't know what it would be. The file has to keep the same spacing and format and be saved as a file with no extension as best I can tell. Essentially it becomes a command instead of an app or anything else I suppose. On Ubuntu I used Gedit to alter the files then compressed them to a .zip. Odd but I think it would handle a tarball but I am not sure recovery would. Anyway, there are editors for windows that will let you do it but I don't know what they are. None of mine would let me save it all of them wanted to give it an extension like .txt or something. That's fine for me cause my laptop is now set up with ADB where my work computer won't allow me to cd to the directory where adb is. Now that it is set up properly on my laptop nothing could be easier than open the terminal cd to ~/asdk/tools and adb to my hearts content.

Now I must say this. With the exception of my disappointment at losing the couple of widgets that require Rosie to run (light trade off cause really it was the few apps that remained I really needed anyway) this is the fastest, most stable, best running, most configurable, killer, Android Rom I have ever run. Well you know in the few weeks I have been Romming. I still have all the stuff I like Teeter, Amazon MP3, flashlight, radio, Flickr syncing, etc etc but don't have the drag and battery vampirism of Whole lotta Rosie. I am keeping this script saved or I will revise it again to remove the stuff I couldn't keep anyway (no sense wasting space with uselessness), might remove a few more things and add a few more things. Oh I changed the fonts too. I just like the look of Bookman Old Style and Times New Roman better. Boring I know but as plain as it looks it just feels natural to me. This launcher program is insane. It is everything I liked about Launcher Pro and Home ++ rolled into a package with even more options and a few oddball extras that kick @$$.

Anyone having issues with autostarts? I have a app that I tamed down in 2.1 and it seems autostarts is not effective in doing so with this ROM. Could be a simply from 2.2 in general but figured Id ask.

This is a standard script permission.

Try it without changing it.

yeah I found that it is pretty standard but for some reason it kept giving me a syntax error. Perhaps tied to whatever is keeping me from fixing permissions in Clockwork. Everything worked fine when I took it out except for the recursive thing. I double checked because I read somewhere than 04755 sometimes doesn't work if you have usb plugged in but I tried installing the original one as you sent it un-modified by me and got the syntax error. The only one that runs is the one I took the 4 out of. I forget what the difference is but my guess is it is trying to do the same thing clockwork would do to fix permissions that it can't do.

Just my guess but seems like it would make sense.

Would it be possible to just push the folders to the right places and run it in ADB? I mean it's done now for me but I was just wondering if it would work. Seems like all the script does is copy a few files to the right locations and then remove a bunch and install the others right?

The radio update is cake with the latest option, and id suggest using unrevoked forever and confirming the s=off prior. At least from what I have read that is the best solution, and it worked flawlessly for me.
