Root Evo Port Test ROMs | Droid Incredible

Well, I have been holding out on updating. But I guess I'll make the jump, I'm still running B3 and I tried to use foursquare and it fc'd. B5 here I come, unless B6 or RC1 is coming soon???????
 
This ROM works great I just have two questions to see if anyone else encountered the same problems, and I haven't been able to tell if they are with Froyo or with the ROM so I hope someone knows. First is PingChat! doesn't work at all, when I try and open it, it flashes white and then gives me two force close errors. And the other thing is my contacts list can no longer be linked to my facebook friends unless they have a mobile device connected to facebook too.

I was actually talking to Adrynalyne the other day, as I've been working with him on some graphics for his FrankenROM, and I'm pretty sure RC1 will be available soon ish, no exact dates but the ROM seems to be doing pretty well in stability and so on, so RC1 is probably only round the corner.

Until then tho, B5 is defo the way to go, seems to be nearly perfect :)
 
So, I have been playing around with different kernals, but really haven't seen any improvements in battery. I have a few questions, though. First, is the market problem with the downloads hitting 100% and hanging or trying to install in my downloads folder (where I get download1.apk, download2.apk, etc) related to kernal? I haven't run stock kernal since the new hydra's came out. I also tried the king kernal today, but saw the same issues with the market.

Any advice is greatly appreciated - I have been using b5, but also thinking of switching to third wave to see if it fixed the market issues.

I've tried all available working kernels and nothing fixes the market problem as of yet. I think Adryn knows whats wrong but hasnt found a sure fire fix yet. but clearly im not 100% sure cause im not him. Just from what I've gathered reading other posts.

I did some more testing with my issues with autostarts and from what I can tell the issue maybe system panel not killing the app and not autostarts. If I kill the app within the OS it appears to go away and then autostarts will keep it from coming back.
 
I installed the second king and have been running for a few minutes. It can be o/c to 1.2, but I started getting unstable after 1.15, so I am going to sit there for a bit. Went to the market and had 8 files to update (I purposely turned off auto update until I verify the market is working correctly) and 6 updated correctly the first time. Had to go into downloads on the sdcard and click the download.apk and download1.apk to install the other 2 (pandora and rom manager). Think I will stick with b5 for now, as I am a frankenrom fan, and it has been the best, most usable and stable rom I have run thus far on the Dinc

yes look about two pages back or so and there is a patch that can be installed and then run one of two ways. If it doesn't install Adryn should be able to fix it for you. I modified it to work but You may not want some of the changes and it may not be the best way to do it. I think he is looking at it. So he would have a better fix. You may not have the issue I had though I am not sure why it didn't work for me. Seems it should.

For what it is worth. Today was a basically normal use day or close as I have had except for 40 minutes of tethering to download eclipse via apt-get. Much faster than the wifi at my in-laws' house for some reason. Go VZW I guess. Anyway I still have about 40 percent of my battery left and I unplugged at 5 am it is now 10:42 pm I am still tethering and I did plug in long enough to get a few files off my phone twice and for about 20 minutes on my drive to work at 6:45. Long story short it is incredibly stable. Seems there are some permissions issues that I think Adrynalyne is looking at probably knows the issue based on earlier comments but it does everything I can think of. Best rom I have flashed yet. I don't hate Sense I just don't have the battery for it and after not having it I love the extra speed or at least perceived extra speed.

I am running a Hydra OC 1.15 Kernel too. Beautiful combo vanilla Frankenrom b5 with hydra oc uv 1.15 #1 link from the post where he announced it. My 2 cents.

Install via clockwork. By itself, it does nothing.

And sure enought it did absolutely nothing. Meaning I booted Clockwork, installed .zip from SD card...and nothing is changed.

The next line says this:

Mount system and sd card partitions from clockwork, run

/system/xbin/vanilla

The zip file does nothing but put the command vanilla command. I can't figure out the /system/xbin/vanilla I mean I get it. It is the location of the command. Perhaps you cd to the folder and type vanilla. The part that follows that the part about if you are a little riskier blah blah. You boot the phone up and then open the adb as you usually would but with the phone booted normally (not in recovery where I think adb normally has to work) and follow the commands he listed. worked for me. Though my permissions are messed up. I wonder if I wasn't supposed to unrEVOked3 again after I unrEVOked forever to put some kind of su permission back on my computer. Maybe that why I am having issues with permissions sticking.
 
Please let me know if you figure this out and can communicate it clearly. I would like to use this as well.

Really like this rom!
I am having zero issues other than not being able to read the internal storage from my PC.
Not an issue for me, I wouldn't have even known it didn't work if I hadn't read it here. I am running the Manup456 REVOlution them in full glory but I never tried it before installing the theme so I don't know if it worked then either.

Ok here's what I did.

-Opened Terminal Emulator
-Typed SU
-Typed SYSRW
-Typed VANILLA
It said: *Sense Removed*

Then I got a few Force Closes on some of the HTC processes like Rosie and some other stuff.

Problem is...I still have the Sense Keyboard & Lockscreen. Sure enough, when I check my Home Switcher app, SENSE IS GONE!, But I really hate the Sense Lockscreen...ideas?

Actually, I liked the layout that Manup457 has on the original post for the theme so well I just tried to make mine similar.

All of the widgest are in the "Transparent Apps" zip file in the thread;
Weather forecast (2x1)
Digital Clock (1x2)
Last call (2x1)
Smooth Calendar

I use "Widget Locker" available in the Market, it's a great app and you can put widgets on your lock screen.

yes i just confirmed this for sure by backing up my themed b5 and installing a fresh b5 without a theme and sure enough, it mounted internal immediately. the patch to fix this would be awesome, thankyou.

How did you change the font on your digital clock widget? And which clock widget? There's a ton lol
