Root evo update

Hey everyone I have been trying to update my htc evo which is rooted..cant seem too make this work..my son rooted our phones I have no clue about this I dont even know if this info is necessary to my problem.something is not letting the update too take place..any help would be greatly appreciated..

do not accept the update. it could either put your phone in a weird state or boink your phone. just flash a gingerbread custom rom. the gingerbread ota is an aweful update in my opinion. we have some great gingerbread custom roms that have sense 2.1 and sense 3.0 built in. it is something that our evos will never get.

ok so here is the stock gingerbread update you can flash:

if you want to try something new i would recommend that you try mikg2.42; [ROM] - [MikRoms] - [7/30/2011] - MikG v2.42 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0 - xda-developers
