Root Evo USB Issues, trying to root.

have you tried booting up a Linux distro and seeing if that will allow you to see the phone? would be worth it to eliminate that the usb is working or not. if usb is not working then you have other issues however I remember or at least think i remember you stating that it would charge. IF so then its a driver issue and that should be fixable just may take a bit of patience.

I still have no luck even with a linux setup.

You have to be in the bootloader for this to work. not in Android.

if none of these methods have worked, FACTORY RESET.

Try again. I had to do that with a few devices over time.

first try Chckycrk suggestion if that doesnt work then I think you are having a usb problem. That you will have to have a sprint repair center fix or they may offer a replacement.
