Root Evo V 4G rebooting after failed ROM flash

Also the reason for the different radio is because you've taken the OTA (that's a good thing), not a problem. The RUU is designed to turn your phone back to completely stock, but it was expecting 1.57.5757 HBOOT, which was my mistake -- I thought it would be successful on the 1.57.0000 HBOOT as well.

I just did some research and found that people have had success with S-OFF on the 1.57.0000 HBOOT, which will allow you to fix your problem most definitely.

I have a guide that will walk you through the process.

You'll need a wire (a paperclip with electrical tape around the middle works best), and to take the back cover off of your phone. It basically consists of running a program and touching wires to specific points on your phone... the guide is here. Just start with Step One.

If you get stuck along the way, just ask. Also, I can help you with TeamViewer if it's overwhelming. Just PM me if you want to go that route.

Alright I think I'll probably read about this tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help. If I have any questions should I just post again in this thread?

Yeah, that will work -- in the meantime maybe someone else has some other ideas, but I'm at a loss for what to do other than to S-OFF and get you onto an HBOOT that will flash what you're wanting.

It didn't work. At the end it said:

ERROR{140}:BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR

Also, when it detected my ROM and showed the one it was replacing, it showed that I had 1.14 and was replacing it with 1.13 (not sure if going backwards is a problem). The program suggests that I get the proper RUU (also, the phone in the RUU does not seem to be an Evo V 4G, not sure if that matters or not).
Your main version (mainver) needs to be downleveled in order to flash the RUU. The reason why and what you need to do are in the S-ON section of this post.

You will need to have the bootloader unlocked to flash the zip file, then lock it again before flashing the RUU.

That worked! Downleveled the mainloader then flashed the RUU. Thank you guys so much! I really appreciate it.

Very nice, glad that worked for you! Now if you want CM10 you're free to do the S-OFF steps required for changing your HBOOT. After working through all of the above I'm sure that S-OFF will be a breeze for you.

My guide here will take you through. Since you've just done the RUU you're good to go starting from step one. Just ignore the part about installing drivers since you've already done that. Unlock your bootloader and you can skip that section too. Any questions about it, please just ask in there and I'll help you out!
