Best buy guy in Lincoln NE said it looks like they won't be getting them for a few days then went on to tell me about the pre order deal... Something about $50 getting converted into a gift card as incentive to pick up the device because they have people pre order then never show up to claim the item
 
Not sure if someone already mentioned it but it's live on Virgin's website now. You can order it. $11.99 for 1-2 day shipping or free ground.

Just cancelled my RadioShack order and went with VM direct. VM order status says it's "BackOrdered" but est. ship date is tomorrow the 1st. So not sure if they are shipping it tomorrow or if I'm getting it on my doorstep tomorrow! I can only hope for the latter..
 
Went out today, None at best buy, radio shack, target or walmart. Ordered mine at Radio shack with 20 dollar off code(Its in stock online). Checked Virgins site and there was no option to add it to cart.

Same here. I checked Best Buy, Radio Shack, Target, and a Sprint corporate store. The best anyone could tell me was "Maybe next week." :(

I'm guessing VM did this on purpose to make sure none leaked out early. They want to get everyone onto the $35 plan.
 
I haven't checked my local stores for the Evo V (since I'm low on cash and can't afford one right now) but I know that Target got both the Optimus V and the Triumphs in before the release date.

For my Triumph, I had to ask one of the clerks if they had any. He looked it up and saw that there was one or two in stock, went out back and got it for me.

I think they are confused. Good luck tho. Called mine and they said they just started taking pre-orders yesterday and said they'll start getting them the 10th. No money down, they'll call you when it's available.

I do not think so. I talked to someone yesterday who told me a truck would be coming and then someone else today who confirmed a truck was coming with them today.
 
After being told by Radio Shack that I can't cancel my order and that even though I ordered all the way back on the 22nd, I won't see mine until around the 9th.

After busting out in tears, I'm just completely over it. This company has treated people horribly over this. I will just wait to get something in my store from now on. It's not worth me going through this roller coaster ride. Radio Shack has taught me a very valuable lesson.

I am frustrated. Really really frustrated...

Virgin Mobile USA website states that the retail stores will start selling HTC EVO V 4G on June 10th 2012.

However, we have experienced in the past that retail stores start selling prior to official retail date.

Radio Shack has a history of terrible service, especially regarding Virgin.
 
Just to add a data point, I walked into (one of) my local Radio Shack(s) today and while the EVO V 4G wasn't on the floor, when I asked they said they had gotten them in and they were in the back. The sales guy was happy enough to go break down the pallet and get one for me, and said they had plenty of extras (only a couple pre-orders to fill).

Of course, I decided against the impulse buy... I'll wait at least a couple weeks to see if people start bitching about weird problems like with the Triumph. Well, that and my wife wasn't exactly keen on me buying a $300 phone when my current one is more or less sufficient (Optimus V). Ultimately it's hard to justify buying something - even to myself - that I really don't "need" for that amount of money. :(

I know exactly how you feel since we are both in the same boat. My order still says "Item(s) located in stock" so earlier I called their customer support and asked why people who ordered 2 days ago got their phone already when Mine (preordered on the 22nd) hasn't even shipped yet.

She was polite and said that they have my phone labeled and that it should ship tonight or Monday... and that I can still cancel up until it says "Shipped" on the order status if I change my mind...

So I can't believe they told you you can't cancel when another person told me I could...
