Root Evo V 4G RUU Flashing guide / Unroot guide

That was one of the guides I looked at. I have the stuff downloaded but now I installed HTC sync and it won't let me update the driver. Guess I'll uninstall HTC sync. Imma try it again but for some reason fastboot just inst working

Well after uninstalling a lot of drivers I installed I did what the guide said and its still stuck on waiting for device. The device is on hboot 1.58 and Its s-on. Idk if that'll help

One last thing. I just tried running a fastboot command on my nexus 5 and it worked. But on the evo it hangs on waiting for device. And also there's a little dialog saying device not recognized

USB debugging is enabled and I don't see a fastboot option. I got it running on a custom ROM. Sensable I think is what its called.

Adb works. Just when I do fastboot oem lock it hangs. And windows shows usb device not recognized

To Unroot back to stock am I suppose to:
(1) lock the bootloader first
(2) flash the stock rom
I read somewhere else someone suggesting do the opposite order

I am not too familiar with RUU.exe and dont know where to get this binary. Can I just download the PG86IMG.zip and put it in root and let the bootloader flash it?
They are the second set of files here: http://androidforums.com/cdma-evo-3...527-rom-update-utility-ruu-all-downloads.html

First need to know what hboot you are on
And are you s off?

SHOOTER XC SHIP S-OFF RL
hboot 1.50.5050
radio 1.09.00.0108
eMMC-boot

All you need is the pg86img.zip
Put it on the root of your SD and flash in bootloader
That will give you stock rom, stock recovery
And you will still be s off

You do not need to relock or anything else so if you want to re-root, just flash a custom recovery again then new rom
