ive had my evo since the first week of december and havent been able to connect to the computer since that week. I have read many other threads and forums on different methods of getting the phone to connect such as removing apps such as the task killer and antivirus and also repeatedly installing htc sync. after about 20minutes of being connected to my computer(dell inspiron 1525 windows vista and also compaq desktop running windows vista) the phone will ask me what connection type i want but when i choose nothing happens on the computer. this has become very frustrating as i would like to root my evo any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

have you tried a different cable?
in all honesty if it has been this way since december...and you try another cable, all usb ports, and even a different computer and it doesn't work then you need to take the phone in to a sprint service and repair center and have it checked out.
