Root Evo Wont Turn ON

Leave it on charge for a while. Might be a bit before the phone actually see its charging and turns on the led.
Alright will do at work I had it plugged in with no luck, on my moms phone still no luck its been about an hour plus with No LED light and no luck turning it on which is odd, I can always try my dad's evo as a last resort but its really weird.

I got the evo last June or right around there so its pretty new and I just put in the back of my dads evo and the LED is blinking orange not sure what that means but it normally just stays solid orange either way I think thats a good sign.

How charged does the battery have to be? Does it have to be fully charged or would it work with 50%+ either way on my way home shortly to get it charging I'd really to follow the root for dummies guide and figure out how to install that Elite Series 2 ROM by Koni but I wouldnt know the first thing about installing ROM's and what not but his ROM looks great.
how to flash a rom on htc evo - Google Search

Don't pay any attention about the warning for unrevoked. I've used it many times with 100% success

hows the rooting going? Give it a try yet? At least you can get your phone on.

I honestly think your battery just needs some charge time. Just plug it in and leave it over night. If it doesnt work OK a new one is a few bucks on ebay. Its the damndest thing but my gfs phone has literally had to charge like 4 hours before we could get it back on. Hell we took it to sprint because we couldnt get it on and it turned on then for him, this was after like 12 hours of no luck.

Rooting should take in the order of 15 minutes once you start. Flashing a ROM takes less time and will become second nature. A few key things. Back up back up back up. We'll talk flashing a ROM after we get you rooted. Let me know how it goes.

Alright sounds great I think Im going to begin rooting later tonight, Ill follow that guide for sure, Im going to back up my contacts right now, I already bought MyBackUp Pro and backed up everything I wanted.

Very well, most use titanium back up, not sure why, i used my back up root on my gfs phone to back things up but i dont know what other capability it has. She has a cheap phone and I just made one back up of what the phone came with, bloatware, in case she ever wants it back, she doesnt change anything on it EVER. Ti back up is for root though so you cant use it just yet. Just sayin i may have gone with the free version of my back up then picked up ti back up after the root.

For isntance in Ti backup you can individually view the apks, back up, restore, uninstall, freeeze, defrost, and delete back up. You can do batch operations too. Most of my uninstalling is done in Ti, or freezing if im not sure i never want it again...hopefully my back up root has the same capability seeing as you bought it lol? Shouldnt matter too much as long as you can reinstall apps without data and with data. You'll mostly reinstall without unless it has data you want to keep like a game with scores.

Also i use sms backup/restore to save my texts, it just throws them in an xml and onto the sd card, you can restore your texts after a format. Also I just use google and sync my contacts that way every time i format and flash google reloads all my contacts, i dont back them up myself. They pull in from google and facebook if you have them synced to do so.

Im not sure how much i'll be on here on a friday night lol ill be at the local watering hole...im sure one of the gurus will be on if you need help.
