Help Evo

I have an HTC EVO from Sprint and now I am with Boost Mobile and I hate my new phone...I want to use my EVO instead...what do I do? I have read different posts about it...I am not sending my phone to someone who I dont know...I have read about calling Boost and telling them that my phone is broke and I bought a new phone and want it changed over (making sure I dont tell them its an EVO) and they will activate my EVO...is this true?
