evo3d lets talk accessories...my input inside

I originally bought the Otter Box Defender. It was bulky in my hand..me being female. I then tried the purple Platinum Series Cruiser case. I did not like how the camera lenses on the back were fully exposed and not protected. I repurchased the Otter Box and it's great having it back. It's so well constructed and protects all the ports AND the camera lenses.

Oh well thats good. I just got some good news. My friend heather is a sales lead at a best buy mobile and shes going to get me my new zagg and come to my house to put it on for me at no charge. No more hassel with that situation. She told me that its much easier to return stuff at the big best buys. The mobile ones are sticklers

I was going to get the OtterBox Defender myself. I tried it on my phone in the store. I didn't like that the plastic screen divider was not optional. I didn't need it because I have a Zagg InvisiShield. Also, in my opinion, the Defender made my phone very brick-like. Very large. Kind of elimitnating the incentive to have a thin smartphone. Long story short, I got the OtterBox Commuter instead. The plastic screen divider was optional and it's much slimmer and lighter while maintaining a high level of protection.

The optional screen divider that came with the Commuter has some "this side up" and "this side down" stickers on it. When you attempt to pull these stickers off with conveniently places pull tabs the sticker pulls off and leaves a gooey residue on the plastic. I couldn't remove the residue without using a harsh abrasive or applying a great deal of pressure to the plastic. Thus bending and/or staining it and making it useless in the process. I didn't need it, so it wasn't a big deal. However it would be highly disappointing had I been looking forward to that particular feature.

I just wanted to add that my old cheapo Walmart charger works just fine. The plain old micro USB one. Its cheap and you can have it much sooner and with less hassle than waiting for online purchases.

Alright everyone, I just switched out my Zagg Smudge Proof for the regular Zagg invisibile shield. All I have to say is, WOW. Do not get the Smudge Proof for the EVO 3D! If you have it, take it back in exchange for the original one and you won't be sorry. My new regular invishield is a million times better than the smudge proof one. It feels very slick and free compared to the rough feel of the smudge proof. No grainy pixels anymore :)

I tried to tell you guys, I love the feel of the smudge proof, but it takes away the qHD on our phones

Amen. Has anyone tried sending their invisible shield back to Zagg and get a new one with the box and all? Basically, I am stuck with 2 Zaggs now. I'd like to send my anti smudge proof one back to Zagg for a fresh one with a box because Best Buy wont accept my return unless I have it unopened. So I'm wondering if I can send the anti smudge one to Zagg and get a new one in box back. Then return that one to Best Buy for my money back. I figure I will lose a few bucks on shipping, but still get at least $20 back for the anti smudge shield if done within 30 days.

You could have kept the defender case which gives you the kickstand and holster. Just take a exacto knife and cut out the clear screen protector. Works like a charm.

This will be my 4th Zagg shield. I don't doubt there are similar products. Its essentially 3m helocopter blade tape. Maybe the optical clarity is better who knows.
I have installed them and each time it get a little easier. Read the instructions in the pack and the Zagg web site and watch a u tube.

A couple of additional hints:
Keep the top that you squeege moist and don't squeegee it into the ear speaker.

Once its all done and the bubbles work their way out use a hair dryer on the surface. Go easy. start with the lowest heat setting. The shield is self healing. You can Eliminate any dings now and in the future.

As for and original or smudge free version I have only seen one version and I couldn't find any mention of it on the web site. They only offered one on their web site.

Can you tell its on there, Yep. Is it as good as just glass nope. Does it protect your screen Yep.

Search Zagg coupon codes I came up with 10. "Zagg 20" worked just now for 20% off.

Huzzah!

Where TF is the official kickstand case???

Also, I can't believe everyone here uses screen protectors--it simply takes too much away from the natural feel of the glass. I keep my phone in my right front pocket with nothing else in the pocket, and I have never had a problem. A case to protect the phone from drops is one thing, but screen protectors these days are entirely superfluous. Take care of your phone and it will take care of you.

Figured I'd mention I'm in a similar boat. I got the Platinum black silicone case (logo is Pt with kickstand). I like it well enough. It covers above the screen and camera so in the unlikely event it ever fell completely flat on either side the case would take the brunt of it and distribute evently. No complaints with it other than the obvious (kickstand feels a little cheap but works well enough). I tried one on my phone in BB and the first one i tried on would not come off for like 5 minutes...kind of embarassing but it told me a little about how secure it was on the device haha.

I also picked up the smudge/glare ZAGG protector for the phone. I had it on for 10 minutes before discovering a spec of dust (i had all the other imprefections worked out though..sigh). I decided to peel it back and remove that, then i got a smudge, then i got lint, then i tried the scotch tape trick to clean it....then i had adhesive haha. It went down hill quick. I registered it with zagg and called in a warranty claim. For $3.99 s&h they're sending me a new one for free as long as i return the old in 60 days. Not a bad deal and their customer support was really helpful. I didnt really have it on enough to attest to how i liked it but it did seem to do what it said it would do with minimal interferance of the view. Maybe ill have a better review on it when i get the replacement in.

HOpe this helps!

I'm not sure where to put this, so I thought I'd drop it in here. Has anyone bought GHOST ARMOR from one of the mall kiosks? There are two kiosks here in town with fairly elaborate setups to install ghost armor on cellular devices. They have quite a few models in stock. the ghost armor they are selling covers pretty much the whole phone. I hate to spend 30 bucks on screen protectors, but if the person guarantees no bubbles on the install, it might be worth it since I ALWAYS get at least one tiny spec of dust in there that causes a bubble to pop up.
