Timo4209

Lurker
I use to have a evo4g I had some voice recordings on there that I wanted to get off but I no longer have my phone just the sd card I got an sd adapter so I could try to get the recording off the sd via computer but when I plug the adapter in there aren't any recordings showing up also a lot of the files I had on the sd card such as music, wallpapers and other files don't show up on the computer. I'm wondering if anyone can help or knows how I can get these files off of my sd card mainly the voice recordings any help would be appreciated

I guess the first question is the most obvious and that is Are you sure you stored them on the SDCARD?

First try to see if the file system has just lost them. Try to run the check disk utility. For best results run it from a dos box

chkdsk x: /f /r
Note replace x with actuall drive letter. The above command will autofix file system errors and check for damaged blocks

If you still are unable to find any of your files you could try PhotoRec and see if that will allow you to recover files that may have been erased. This is a powerful program and is very good at restoring files.

If these don't work then you may just have to count it up as loss. Backups are essential to data preservation.
