EVP Delivery Dates

hmmm wonder if its the same Lisa i deal with via email.

Anyway, I emailed her just now to cancel the order. I hope it gets cancelled. I haven't received a reply back yet. Anyway, Its funny, but at the same time I was writing the cancellation email notice, I get a call from the Radio Shack that I pre-ordered from and was told to come in at 7AM for my appt to pick up the EVO. last week, they tell me no appt are necessary and we won't open up early and now they say yeah you have an appt at 7AM and we open at 6AM. woohoo. I'm getting my EVO, I'm getting my EVO lol

As for EVP, I am not faulting them either for the delay in shipping, its not their fault that Sprint has been Big Brother in all of this and making sure no one gets to ship/sell any phone until they say so.

TS out

I'm sure she'll get back to you once she gets done wading through the river of cancellation emails and phone calls she's receiving, not a good day to be an evp rep.

Via chat EVP rep just told me that my phone would ship Friday, and that Sat delivery was possible if my area supported it... I called around my area, and there are no EVO's available unless preordered.

Looks like I'm waiting for Saturday! On a good note, all of my Seidio accessories were delivered today, so I can play with them.

I wish we could get a better answer about saturday delivery some reps say yes some say no...guess we won't know for sure until we get the shipment notifications and actually track them via the ups website..

I found an RS that has 2 not allocated to pre-orders, but they won't let me order or reserve them in any way, first come first serve. At this point I'm seriously considering a camp out, and one starting very early.. which is crazy, since I've never done anything like that for anything before.

I've never lined up for anything before either but I will be on Sprint's doorstep at 5 am tomorrow morning for sure.

EVP has made an enemy of me. Their only hope of redemption is me getting my phones by Saturday. I'm definitely going to write corporate about my experience if EVP can't get us our phones by launch day. I suggest everyone else do the same.

Edit: If I haven't seen a shipping notice from EVP, I'm going to go to my local Sprint store in the morning and try my luck without a pre-order. Then I can call EVP and tell them to go to hell cancel my order.

Just canceled my order. I probably won't try for one tomorrow. At this point I'm just calling Sprint or going online tomorrow if it's available before 7am.

I've decided if I can't get it early I'll just try to save as much money as possible with the most convenience, namely no 2 x $36 activation fees and one less mail in rebate. The $25 savings on the EVO will be made up by the $25 saving on the Rumor.

The rep on the phone said the EVP discount can be applied often to the next billing cycle after I receive my phones.

Not sure if I'll get one before it goes into backorder.

Update: So as I finished this post BB called and they apparently still have my pre-order despite cancelling. Have an appointment for 9:30am.

I have to work all weekend and since there will apparently be no EVO for me to play with, I'll spend all my time just reading everyone's first impressions and learning all the new tips and tricks. Then, when Monday rolls around, I'll be ready to dive in and join the fray. I REALLY wanted the damn thing by tomorrow, but I'll get over it.....eventually.

Well, hayj inspired me to check back with the store I originally pre-ordered from and they still have my paperwork. I can come in this evening and re-authorize the deposit and I'll be back to where I was pre-EVP.

I just spoke with Brian at EVP and canceled my order. Like most of you decided, the $25 off per-phone was offset by the shipping cost and having to wait several more days. If I can manage to get my activation fee waived then I'll even save some money.

The store told me they don't waive activation fees when I asked last week. Is there a trick to it? I read in one thread to call after I have my account and tell the operator that I was promised no activation fees and they'll refund it. Anyone had luck with that?

If you're a Premier customer you just call in and ask them to remove the charge, simple as that.

I made my order through EVP as well hoping to have gotten the unit early, but no such luck. But I'm not really seating it either since I was not planning on activating my Evo anyway until I saw how much Amazon and Wirefly were going to sell the Evo for after 12am tonight. If I'm not mistaken Amazon was selling the Incredible for $99 dollars for the first few hours it was released. So I will be camped in front of my computer tonight to see if Amazon posts another great deal. I suggest some of you folks out there might want to do the same.

I wasn't expecting an early delivery, but sometime during the day on Friday would have sufficed. I could probably handle Saturday AM if they could actually promise that, but it's looking more and more like Monday now for EVP, and because of that, I'm very pissed at them for misleading me for the past week. If they'd have said Monday when I ordered, I would have ordered, and I think they knew that. It reeks of deliberate deceit.

I agree, I could have held out until Saturday morning if that was actually going to happen but no way am I going to pay extra for shipping to get it on Monday. I wonder how many people have cancelled their orders through evp because of this.

More fail, another couple of BBs off the list. One said they have already sold everything they have in and the other said they have sold 29 but have more, but said "I am not at liberty to tell you how many we have not sold yet". WTH? If you have 0, or 100, or something in between, why not tell me so I can decide if I should come to your store tomorrow and give you my money or not??

This is just making my anger at EVP grow.

They definitely aren't making any friends on this deal and it would have been HUGE for them with all of the word of mouth on here for them to have come out looking good on this release but they blew it for sure. It would have been much better for them to have been honest from the start instead of making promises they couldn't keep and making a lot of people mad.

Reminds me of the Wii launch. I stood in line for a few hours at Gamestop. An employee was in line in front of me. He said he didn't know how many Wii's they had but I should be fine.

They had only enough for everyone in front of me, including the employee. As I was leaving without my Wii when they opened I heard him say he knew how many they had all along.

I think what burns the most though is that I converted 2 people from iphones to the EVO, and their very first experience with anything Sprint related is this mess. And while everyone knows that this isn't exactly Sprint's problem, instead of them dancing around the office tomorrow giddy because they have shiny new toys they're going to be moping around unhappy and unsatisfied, and definitely not converting others. IOW, EVP have screwed Sprint as well as all of us.

how is this relevant if you are not an existing customer i don't think amazon can upgrade you so the $99 for an Incredible would still require a new two year activation and can they even port your number if you are a new customer to sprint

I don't know what to do. If I knew for sure that I would get it on Saturday for sure I would be ok with that. Knowing I probably have to wait till Monday when it's my weekend off with nothing to do upsets me. Was going to play with my phone all weekend. I am just going to chance it and stop by a Sprint store tomorrow if I get one than I'll deny the one from UPS and have them return to sender. I am still hearing different things from EVP could be Sat and Lisa says no Monday for sure. And Brian didn't email me back today and I know there swamped. I was told there were over 400 preorders and no telling what order I am in. So hopefully if I get one at the Sprint store on my way to work I can cancel. Cause more than likely if I was to of gotten tomorrow and already had left for work it would of been Monday anyway. Wish I knew how many my store was getting in. There not telling anyone anything.

Looks like RS is a go for my two lines with upgrade, and sprint store a go for the line that is not. Tomorrow is going to be very busy.. lol
