EVP Delivery Dates

Just chatted with EVP. Here's their response to my shipping question:

Me: Do you have any more information on the EVO shipping time?

EVP Support: It will ship out tomorrow.
 
Here's a follow up:

Me: No chance for today.

EVP Support: We do not currently have them in our inventory. If they arrive in our inventory today then they will ship out today. We have no way of knowing when they will be put in our inventory except that it will be by tomorrow.

Well, I got a slightly different response. I spoke with Brian at 9:52 ET today.

Current status:


  1. The EVOs havent shown up in their inventory yet, but it could show up at anytime.
  2. They are checking frequently because they want to get these EVO orders out ASAP.
  3. They have extra staff scheduled to work into the evening to get orders out today if inventory shows up.
  4. The latest they can show up in inventory and still have a chance of shipping today is 3pm ET.
  5. If they ship Friday, then Sat delivery is dependent on if UPS in your area does Sat deliveries. Some areas do and some dont. If your area does and you paid for overnight delivery, you should see it on Sat

If anyone hears a new update, pls let us all know. Keep Hope Alive :)

They are specifically saying they offer Saturday deliver with the overnight? Are they 100% sure, speaking from experience? This has been covered quite a bit in this thread but Saturday delivery has to be flagged on the shipment and so far no one has verified this will happen.

LOL -- I asked them the same question. I asked "Do you tell UPS to deliver Overnight or Overnight with Sat Delivery. They said they only have the option of Ground or Overnight in their system, so they don't know how it shows up in the UPS system, BUT they know people have received Sat deliveries when overnighted on a Friday.

It could be that some UPS locations just go ahead and do Sat delivery for any overnights. Who knows.
 
Wonder if there's still time to pre from BB or RS.. even if EVP tells me I can't cancel after noon, I figure, there's always the option of rejecting the shipment, or simply returning theirs unopened, should they arrive on Monday sometime.

I figure, if I don't even have a tracking # by this evening, it ain't happening before Monday.

My local Best Buy told me they're accepting pre-orders for the next shipment but that's probably location dependent. I canceled my pre-order but called just in case they failed to remove it from the queue. They are checking and getting back with me. Concerning the noon cut-off, I just chatted with EVP and here's my question.

Me: Ok. Can I cancel my order anytime today as long as it doesn't ship if I decide to go that route?
EVP Support: Yes.

Not sure I understand. From sprint the phone is $299 - MIR $100 = $199

EVP is $299 - MIR $125 = $174

But maybe my math isn't right or something. *shrug*
 
I just spoke to EVP again and Mandy answered and said that it is not in the system yet and that they have no way of marking it for Sat delivery so expect Monday. I don't know! I also just emailed my EVP rep Brian back. I then called my Sprint store and explained my situation and said I may just want to cancel and come there how many did you get in and he said it's all confidential I can't tell you anything about it. I can't believe how there acting when the phone comes out tomorrow. I said well can you tell me about accessories and he said no that is confidential too. I called BB just for the heck of it but they said they only got enough in for preorders. There is a little Sprint store by my house but there not a corporate store what's the difference going to one of those stores? I just don't know if I can wait till Monday. If I had confirmation that it would for sure be here Fri or even Sat is fine I wouldn't try to get it elsewhere.

I'm waiting here now for my Fed Ex order of my Seidio case and protectors. It should be here before 4:30 my email said and I have to leave at 1:45 for work. I'm afraid to get in the shower that they will come. LOL!

No, the EVO is cheaper. It's my second phone the Rumor Touch. 54.99 on EVP site after a $50 rebate. Sprint offers it for $30 without the rebate.

I chatted with them about this and they claim that even though it's cheaper that Sprint's online prices are only valid with a regularly priced rate plan. Implying the phone would be more expensive if I tried to apply EVP discount to the plan. This confused me because I thought this was done after the purchase. How could they go back and charge more for the phone, or would they deny me the EVP discount. Anyone know?
 
Mine said there opening at 8:00 but I work nights and don't usually go to bed till 1:30 or 2:00 sometimes later so I know I won't get up. I'll come home from work tonight and stay up reading the forums like I have been doing all week. LOL!

Edit: I just spoke to Sprint cause I wanted to know what the difference was from buying from my regular corporate store or going through this little 3rd party Sprint store close to my house. We spoke for awhile and he said oh do you want me to see if your elegible for any speical deals on your account and I said sure. He said your elegible for a one time 50 dollar credit for resigning and I was like oh cool. Sold my TP2for 150 and now this 50 dollar credit. I already paid extra last month on my bill so I did good. But I may just go by this little store or the main one on my way to work tomorrow if I don't get it from EVP and I'll just reject the package and send it back too. I'm billing my account though so I don't know how long it will take for the credit. I'll have 2 phone charges on my account.

Non-corporate stores are not owned by Sprint and can't charge a phone to your account, you would have to pay for it upfront.
 
Somebody at ppcgeeks made a great point. The EVP Evo's are suppose to be shipping from the sprint warehouse, which I'm sure are already stocked with Evo's. EVP is waiting for the green light from Sprint to place the orders to ship from the Sprint warehouse.

Since Sprint isn't actually sending EVP the phones and then EVP ships, I'm sure Sprint isn't going to give the green light until tomorrow since it'll be coming directly from Sprint warehouses. With that being said, I'm sure Sprint is going to wait till tomorrow to give EVP the green light to ship, and when Sprint does give the go ahead. I've never received a phone from Sprint on a Saturday.

But since the phones are coming from Sprint directly but placed through EVP, then we won't get them on Saturday at all. It's because they are using Sprints shipping system to place the order.

This is a good point and makes a lot of sense to me. But what I don't get is why Sprint wouldn't want to ship today. With overnight delivery there's no chance of any customer getting this phone in hand before the 4th. I don't care how close you live to the "warehouse."

I just did a chat w/EVP Support also..same crap, won't ship till tomorrow...won't have them till monday regardless of overnight shipping.
 
Well they certainly screwed this one up, not a good way to make the customers that have been waiting for this phone forever happy. This will definitely be my last dealing with evp.

Ditto, my company joined the EVP program specifically for the EVO......

now i'm left with the decision..do i keep my EVO Order w/EVP..or do I cancel & chance it w/a sprint corp store tomorrow?
 
OK, time to call up the local BB and/or RS until I find a pair. This was my first and apparently last over with EVP.
