EVP Delivery Dates

From what I am beginning to understand, EVP is just a 3rd party authorized dealer for Sprint. When we pre-ordered our evo's, a week or two ago, there wasn't some sort of stash of evo's we were reserving a phone from, but instead, our names were put on a list, and then Friday morning, the EVP team, placed Sprint web orders on our behalf?

I ask this because people that placed their orders Thursday night from the official Sprint website, had theirs ship, yet mine placed via an EVP rep 2 weeks ago was only entered into Sprints system Friday and did not ship. So although I pre-ordered, people who didn't took priority. Probably because they entered their order into the Sprint system before my EVP rep did.

If this is all true, I don't blame Sprint, but I have learned a lesson. EVP probably is great, but just don't use them for fast selling phones you want in a hurry. Use them when you would have been fine using Sprints website, but wanted that extra 25.00 dollars off.

Well,
I paid for overnight shipping, but it's only shipping ground...
I am NOT happy with EVP.

I don't care about waiting for it....I am just not happy that I paid for a service that I did not recieve.

FYI...mine should be here on Monday.

i think they figured since it'll be the same delivery timeframe (theres no Saturday delivery from UPS unless you specify and is usually $15-20 more), it went to ground shipping to save cost. However, that cost wasnt passed onto you if you paid $12 for it. I would definitely raise hell to EVP on Monday if you haven't already and at the very least get your $12 back. Don't worry, I paid $12 and will get it Monday as well. Good thing I am on vacation until the next week so I'll have plenty of time to play around with it when it comes.

you got it, EVP is just another retailer. You could have walked in to any local Sprint retailer and purchased a phone for the same price. $25 less price was only for brand new customer vs upgrade price. They had to wait till the EVO was released by sprint on June 4 before they could process the pre orders and this is why they didn't ship or have tracking info till then.

Very misleading sales methods knowing people wanted their phones on June 4th was the reason for pre order.

I for one will make sure to inform the public about EVP with hopes of sparing others.

Although I am sad that the phone was NOT received by launchdate, I understand the predicament that Sprint placed on them. In my prior experience with EVP, they did ship my winmo phones before launch date and it was in my hands either PRIOR to the official launch date or on the launch date. With that said, given the high-sell-out risk that came with the EVO, I think Sprint placed restrictions on how early dealers and consumers could order it and thus it became a problem for all of us. Although my prior experiences with EVP had been good, this purchasing experience through them left a sour taste in my mouth and I know I should just go to BB, RS, or corporate to get a hot selling phone on launch date.

This is what I was told by EVP ( I asked point blank several times so there was no misunderstanding.)

EVP :( I have names and emails ) "The phone would be shipped the day sprint entered it in their inventory system."

So, Best Buy, Radio shack or any other retailer could not order this phone for their inventory until it was posted on sprints computer network inventory right ? (" Yes" )

This means all EVP pre orders could be shipped about 1 wk. in advance.

EVP "we have no way of knowing when they will show up on sprints inventory but they will be shipped the day they do."

EVP could not give a date but you can't purchase products from a manufacturer / wholesaler unless they show it in their inventory and knowing the retailers would have to stock up prior to June 4th one can only assume EVP should be shipping early. This was in my opinion EVP intentionally misleading customers knowing Sprint would not allow sales orders to be processed prior to June 4th.

If above were true it gives UPS enough time using the 3-5 day del. to have a EVO before or by June 4th. so why wait in lines at a local retailer. I was not happy about waiting 10-12 wks. for rebate and loosing the other perks I heard about but thought it was better ordering directly from Sprint. This was before I knew EVP was just another 3rd party retailer. I have had experiences with other companies 3rd party retailers leaving a bad taste in my mouth, is why I tried to do buss. directly with sprint.

Once the information leaves the horses mouth ( sprint ) it tends to change every time it's repeated. ( retailer ) And this is why we hear diff. stories. If somebody came to you and said I'll pay you hundreds of dollars for every new customer you sign up with a 2 yr. contract, you might be willing to say anything to increase your sales numbers too. Knowing this is why I'm very upset about how EVP mislead customers about pre orders. And just as upset about sprints website directing me to them for EVP.

Sprint offered the EVO on their website under phones and plans about 1+ wk. before June 4th. If the phone was not in sprints inventory there is no way retailers could order them before June 4th so that only leaves the conclusion, EVP mislead people to obtain pre orders sales.

If you can't sell an item before release day then don't imply you can. sales people who think there are no consequences don't care once they have your signed contract. I'm going to make sure the media hears my story so EVP thinks twice about the next lie.

I've been waiting 2 yrs. for this phone and to have some 3rd party retailer lie to me over a upgrade commission really ticks me off. can you tell : )

If my current phone was not dying I would return the EVP order. This is another reason I'm so freakin ticked.

I still haven't received my confirmation number or tracking number from EVP and I was getting worried. However, I went to my account on sprint.com, and pulled down the dropbox on my account name and cell number on the upper right hand corner... select "see payment history". Then select "Order & Sprint Store Transaction History" on the next screen. Sure enough, my order number and UPS tracking number were found there.

I too finally got my confirmation number from EVP but when I enter it on Sprint's website, it doesn't show a tracking number. Clearly it didn't ship yesterday, which means I'd get it on Tuesday at the earliest. Ugh...

I did this too....BUT GET THIS.... check your order #. My rep sent me an order # that had an EXTRA SPACE in it. Make sure when you copy and paste the order number on Sprint's site, there are NO EXTRA SPACES in the order # even if its before a dash or after etc. After I found the extra space - it worked! I hope this is the case with you too!

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately that's not the case for me. Sprint's website recognizes my order number and brings up the info, but the tracking field is blank and it still says "Status:Your order is being processed. If you have any questions, please contact a representative at your original point of purchase."

I've got a tracking number but it isn't live it UPS's system. With my luck it probably hasn't even shipped yet. I've just chill'n and wait'n.

As for the rebate forms, they noted on my e-mail that the forms won't have a line for the EVO but to use the form anyways.

the sad thing is that the folks at sprint come across as nothing more than used car salesmen. this company has a product that is one of the hottest devices out there and for some reason it appears that they dont know how to launch it. they speak so much about "premier customers" and trying to retain the customers but it is all talk. i could have easily ordered from radio shach or best buy but i went to a sprint store and spoke to them 3 days prior, two days prior and a day prior to 6/4 and was told that there would be a phone available to me. i asked numeroud times. this made me pretty comfortable that i would have a phone. the store opened at 8, i got there at 8:30 and all they were doing was taking orders and telling the folks that the phone would be available on monday. they were only giving phones to new activations. they told me that they could order it for me...big deal, i could do that myself...just don't understand how these organizations work and why the customer is really not in their best interest to keep??

Mine shipped friday night and by yesterday around 10 am it was sitting in Michigan about 30 mins from my house but it won't be here until tomorrow. Crap if you ask me.

for those that have EVP shipped already and had their phones billed onto their sprint account, has the charge showed up on your sprint bill yet?

No not yet. Most likely the next billing cycle - I believe we're still in the middle of this billing cycle (ends June 9th) so it will show up later this week or soon afterwards

Ok I've been reading everyone's pissed off reviews about EVP, but here's my own personal experience:

I worked with Lisa Smith. I came into this KNOWING full well that there is a possibility I won't get it on June 4th. They made that clear when they said:

"we have no way of knowing when they will show up on sprints inventory but they will be shipped the day they do."

I placed my order and opted for the $12 overnight shipping. I got my shipping confirmation on Friday and Lisa even asked if I wanted to ship regular since I won't get it on Saturday - that going regular would arrive Tues and "overnight saver" would get here Monday. I said Monday is fine. She was really pleasant to work with and was apologetic that I didn't get it by Saturday. I said no apologies necessary since they never guaranteed I would get it early. So what's the point of EVP? I could have very well waited in line - got an EVO - then waited another hour or so while Sprint's activation system would work. Yeah I wouldve had fun playing with the EVO 2-3 days earlier and enjoying it sooner but what the hell. I get it Monday, I activate it in the comfort of my own home (when the systems are back up already), apply the screen protector and the case, and in the meantime - I'm able to enjoy reading everyone's experiences, reviews, etc. I was able to enjoy a great Friday not waiting in any line or dealing with activations. For me IMHO, EVP is not for people who want to enjoy the phone during release day. I know everyone is bashing them for not getting it in early, but I enjoyed Lisa's service. She was very responsive to all my emails (because I NEVER bashed them once) and I came into it knowing I wouldn't get it early. Yeah you can argue that I couldve ordered it myself on Sprint's system early - but even some instances were problematic (like the bulk ordering caused lags in the system and people STILL got late processing of orders). Bottom line, I got a confirmation on release day, got the tracking number, and I'm getting it Monday. Done deal. I had a good experience with EVP and I'm sorry a lot of you feel otherwise. For me the extra 2 days were worth it.

Just a reminder to check and see if you have a corporate sprint partner that your company works with. My company uses bluefish wireless and I got the phone for $199 (after mail-in rebate) with another $100 check, $25 visa gift card, and a car charger once the line is open for 30 days. That brings the EVO down to $75 net, not including a number porting credits etc that you may be eligible for. Mine was ordered on Friday and will be here Monday. For me it was worth waiting a couple of days to save the extra money.

Actually this just upsets me more. Not cary328is's statement or opinion, which is perfectly fine, but something EVP told her. Specifically referencing "overnight saver" tells me they know the type of shipping the overnight was, Next Day Air Saver. More to the point, Next Day Air Saver doesn't offer Saturday delivery, see here under "Value-added services". Notice other services list Saturday delivery as a "Value-added services". If someone there knew they were using Next Day Air Savers, I believe they should have been up front with this. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is a fair assessment.

"we have no way of knowing when they will show up on sprints inventory but they will be shipped the day they do.".

How did all the 3rd party retailers order EVO's from Sprint if Sprint didn't have EVO's in their inventory ?

Very misleading statement in my opinion.

Sprint added EVO 4g to their website phones list before June 4th because I went there and completed everything up to the point of placing order and stopped. If sprints web site was able to process orders before June 4th with a shipping hold, I can only assume the phone was listed in their inventory.

I made it clear to EVP the only reason for placing pre order with them was to receive the phone June 4th or sooner or I could go to BB. I'm told it will ship the day it hits Sprints inventory. Well if retailers can't order phones from sprint till it hits sprints inventory and we know they will have to before June 4th how could a product not hit sprints inventory prior to June 4th ? I won't ever believe they expected to ship prior to June 4th based on the info. that has been provided but they needed to provide a misleading statement to increase sales numbers since that is why they are in buss.

I only spoke with them on the phone the day pre order was placed and received emails. They were nice and I didn't have any complaints about the process until June 3rd when I still had not received any new info. and realized my phone would not arrive till June 7-8th.

Just because somebody smiles and shakes my hand while misleading me during a sale, doesn't change the facts. It's still deceptive practices to obtain your buss.

If a car sales person said to you what can I do to sell you this car today. And you told them you want the car by June 4th or you would buy it some place else. And the sales person replied, we can ship it to you as soon as Ford list vehicle in their inventory and you know the big sale day for this vehicle is June 4th and dealers will have them in stock on lot to sell, you can only assume Ford would have to list vehicle in their inventory for dealerships to order how many they need. You see, very misleading and I think they knew it. That's my opinion! No matter how people try to twist it around I think EVP knew exactly what they were doing.

BB / RS employees posted they had EVO's in stock before June 4th. How did they order them ? They called sprint and said we would like 20 - EVO's and sprint said we can't ship them until they are listed in our inventory. Oh, well how can we sell them on June 4th if we don't have the phones. Sprint: You will have them before June 4th. Pretty much how it would have to work isn't it.

Agreed !!! Agreed !!! Agreed !!!

I have had the same very pleasant experience with Brian at EVP. Of course, it is great to get a device on release day, but it really doesnt matter. I used the weekend for kids soccer games, a piano recital, a birthday party, a pool party, taking my daughter out for lunch, mowing the lawn, going to dinner with friends, updating my appbrain list and in the evening following forums to gather tips on enhancing my own experience when I get the device today (Mon).

I must confess, after daughter lunch, I stopped by a Sprint store to touch the precious and really feel the size to see if it was going to be an issue. It was fine, so I was pleased. Monday seems to have worked out better for me. YMMV

When it ships, a tracking number will appear on the right side of the screen of the Sprint site.

edit: added a screen cap

erikivy -- congrats!! Looks like your EVO went out for UPS delivery at 5:34am this morning.

Mine went out for UPS delivery at 6:33am this morning.

Let's race. :)

UPS sucks big oscar mayers. They don't even bother coming down my driveway it's too long they just put a slip in the mailbox.
I closed my account with them after they left a package in the rain by the mailbox a half mile from the house.
So your UPS driver regularly commits federal crimes, then? Nice.

I can't wait for all of you to get your EVO's! It is the most awesome phone I have ever had. Can't wait to show if off at work today especially to those who have i phones. Like 10 of my coworkers have iphones. Another has Sprint and she said her husband wants this phone. I keep finding out little things it does and I am like oh you cando this this way and it's easier and it just amazes me. Still can't get my contacts only linked to FB though it want's to link everyone that is a friend. But I'll figure it out I hope.

For those of you who canceled your orders and still need the evp discount, I just called Sprint and set up the discount. They asked for my employer and that was it. Took less than 10 minutes and should appear on my bill within 1-2 cycles.

this is sad. i could not sleep well at all in anticipating my phone. i didnt have this much trouble sleeping even before my medical licensing exams...

where's the d@mn brown truck?!
