Help Exchange POP3 vs Gmail Fetching

Have a pretty simple question for the group. Which is faster...having Gmail pull (fetch) my emails from my work and personal email accounts. Or setting up POP3 right on the Evo and setting up the frequency?

Thanks for the help

The Gmail app doesnt pull emails, it gets them pushed. So I would have to say, that between Exchange "as items arrive" and the Gmail app, they probably both use the same amount of battery.

But which will I get faster....I'm reading that Gmail fetch has been taking up to an hr to receive an email. I need my emails like every 15mins. I didn't say in my OP but I am coming from a Blackberry Tour in which as you know I get my emails almost instantly. I understand I will not get them that fast with Gmail/Android but an hr???

i use exchange and gmail and i know my exchange email is just as fast as blackberry push.
my gmail is "As items arrive" and the tests i have done sending emails to myself, they show up in the inbox within seconds. i have 3 gmail accounts.

^same here ... the only emails that are delayed are email addy's like msn and my road runner emails. gmail "fetches" those every half hour or so

I tried so many times to get by Optimum email connected on my Evo, but it just wouldn't work. I have a Gmail account, but I don't use it. In the end, I just set my emails as webpage bookmarks and just link into them. I don't need them anywhere near as frequently as the OP though.
