Help Experimental Stock Build .229-

Started going back to stock with my battery at 56% got up to .905 went to update to .229 ics and it aborted. I'm guessing it's because my battery is at 20% now.

Well, I finished FXZing to 902 than OTA'd to 905. Thanks for your help...nerve racking.

I ran into a little trouble when 902 was being setup. It would lock up and I ended up doing a factory reset a few times. I think a problem I was having is when google was going to sync my account in setup. I ended up just skipping and than I was ok. Than I OTA'd 905 and am loading programs now. I had backed up my Internal card per your recommendations :)

I think I will stay on the OTA path but follow your more adventuresome exploits with the ICS leaks. It was fun fooling with ICS 2233 for a few days.

Cheers!

Truthfully, I recommend doing the full FXZ after making a manual backup of the internal storage to your computer - you'll find a few folders that move around / are unnecessary, and you can always copy things like pics / musc etc. Plus, on first run, after scanning both internal and external storage, you get a prompt allowing you to move much of your media to external storage for consolidation purposes.

I tried just the modified fxz to see what would happen and I had time to kill. Stick to Johnlgalt advice. All it gave me was a big bowl of bootloops. Had to use the full version to restore.

Am on 3rd leak, kept 1200mhz thru al 3. Am all stock,no root. Just waiting for ota. a friend tried 1st 2,went from 1200 to1000mhz. Hes flashing 229 now so will see after he's finished.

I flashed yesterday but after restoring my titanium backup i had to do a factory reset because nothing was working right. The screen wouldn't even lock when i shut it off and on again. After the reset though everything seems fine. I can confirm that I'm at 1200 but i was at 1200 on.2223.

I made a full TiBu Backup on 2233, FXZd --> OTA --> Leak and restored *everything* from TiBu from the 2233 backup - and nothing has failed.

I did it in two steps, though, first time I restored only System data and I let everything stay enabled, then rebooted the phone and restored all missing apps with data.

As for SDCard and 1.0 vs 1.2 I'm the one that suggested it, but it's truly a long shot - and now I have confirmation that at least one person has the same card as me and got 1.2 on their phone....

I remember reading on one of these forums that a 1.0 and a 1.2 ghz chip are actually the same chip, the difference in performance being the of the chip quality. If this odd the case, those of us only showing 1000 mhz speeds are probably stuck, as Mot only advertises the Bionic as a 1.0 ghz device.

Of course, I could be totally wrong........

Yes, Thom, already way past comparing CPU and other hardware...

People with the exact same CPU as my phone are getting 1.2 and I am not.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking:) 200Mhz is no big deal to me, but I can see some people accidentally dropping their Bionics in the toilet and needing replacements in the coming months.....

*EDIT* This post is in no way suggesting or condoning insurance fraud.

My Bionic is in the mid to low 2000 on Quadrant at 1 Ghz on GB and at 1.2 Mhz was 3025 on ICS 2233 leak.

Well everyone, I backed up my 32GB sd card to a old 8GB one I had laying around last night and am redoing the procedure to get ICS .229 back up and running just to put the SD card theory to rest once and for all.

*EDIT* Still 1000Mhz so I think we can safely say that your clock speed is going to depend of the batch of CPU's that your phone ended up with. While the Razr and Bionic both have the exact same chip, if a batch got rejected for the Razr they were probably retested at 1000Mhz for use in the bionic and if they passed at 1000Mhz they got used instead of scraped.

Johnlgalht or dautley did either of you try messing around with the overclocking hack from a ways back? If so were you able to get your bionic to work smoothly at a higher speed or did you get a lot of crashes?

I recall seeing something about a overclocking hack over at the hive, is that the one your talking about? I really don't like to have more that one experimental thing going on at a time but might try it just to see if it works okay on my phone, but 200Mhz really isn't that important to me having come from a Ally. If you can post a link to the hack your talking about i'll take a look at it and see.

I was trying to see in the past if you were physically able to get your cpu faster. I am not sure if this will even work on the ICS kernels but here is the link if you wanted to read up on it or try it.
[INIT.D SCRIPT][OverClock] init.d Script for tekahuna's OMAP4 Overclock Modules [1-10-12] - Droid Bionic Development - RootzWiki

Looking for some insight...

Based on the recent leaks that we've seen and the timing of them, what would you say is the date for the final OTA ICS build?

Just curious, don't really want to load a leak and then have the final build come along.

I didn't try that one but I did do the one at Droid Bionic Overclock - DROID BIONIC - droidHIVE Forums
I followed the instructions exactly and got the message "clockspeed set to 1.2GHz" in Terminal Emulator but both Quadrant and set cpu still reported my clock speed as 1000Ghz and no real increase in my quadrant score.

Like most of these things, it's done when Verizon posts the docs and starts pushing it out. No way to tell when that will be. This build still has webtop issues so I'd say the only thing for sure is this probably isn't it.

Ummm, I'm getting 21xx on ICS

I think i started to at over point but then i moved on to ICS4 BIONIC and our was sufficiently fast enough on CM9 fit me not to worry about OCing...

Interesting. Locked CPU? I certainly hope booty

... and adding to the confusion ... for the last release to everyone ... all the information was posted on the Verizon website and one week later the software was released and started to be pushed to everyone. It was pushed to a few people the day the information was posted ... but not everyone.

How did the schedule for the Razr and RMaxx play out? Can we deduce anything from that rollout on when we'll see final ICS for the Bionic?
