Help Extend Lockscreen Time?

Does anyone know if it is possible to extend the length of time before the lock screen kicks in (/settings>>>security>>>lock phone after)? Right now on my EVO the maximum time is 15 minutes. I assume this is an Android OS matter and not specific to my EVO.

I would like a little more time before the screen locks......old Iphone user....gave me up to 4 hours before the screen automatically locked.

Did you check the market for an app to give you a longer period before it locks? To answer your question, no.

Your battery life will decrease quite a bit the longer your display stays on. I think Google knew this and that's one of the reasons we don't have higher display timeouts.

I suppose you could set your Evo 4G to "Never turn off" and lock the screen manually if you really wanted. Just don't forget to do so or you'll come back to a dead battery.

I use Screen Timeout Toggle (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.chemdroid.screentimeouttoggle&feature=search_result) to toggle between never timing out and two minutes timeout. It's got a nice little widget to turn the feature off and on. Not exactly what you are looking for but it may work for you.

I am so confused. Are we talking screen time out or lock.....two completely different things.

By the way I read it the you are trying to extend the time before the phone locks requiring you to input pin or pattern. above app should work but then again....if you are leaving the phone unlocked that long what the point of even turning on the lock?

Same reason I like it, I keep the pin lock on for security purposes but I get annoyed having to re-enter it every time my screen goes off if I happen to look away for a minute and the screen times out. I have the pin lock set to come on at 15 minutes. Mostly just to keep people from messing with my phone if I'm not around. I realize someone could in theory grab it the second I put it down and then it wouldn't be locked yet, that's just a chance I take. My biggest concern is when I'm sleeping. Nosey types around here...
