Extended battery cases

I know there are a lot of threads about this and I looked through a lot of them and didn't find what I was looking for. I have the extended battery case that I got from Verizon but I was wondering if there are any better ones that are being sold on amazon?

I started with the VZW shell/holster and it is nice but don't use the holster as I carry the phone in my pocket, so the top/bottom are unprotected. Bought the TPU case from Diztronic and am loving it. Great protection and has survived a few minor and a major drop without any harm at all.

See, I use the holster all the time. I thought (briefly) about an Otterbox, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bulky for me.

I baby the phone as it is, but you're right, the Shell / holster combo on this phone provides a lot less protection than the one on my OG DROID does.

I can't believe for the type of dvice it is that there isn't more options for extanded battery cases.

I myself don't like skin type cases like the TPU and the holster one doesn't fit my needs. I myself lik ethe flip style/wallet cases.

Is it possible that the Bionic may not be a popular device and was sort of caught between the iPhone 4S and the Razr Maxx and may not get as many accessories?

Did you search Amazon.com. I would swear I saw some flip style cases for the Bionic there. I can't swear they were for the extended battery.

I did and their not, just for the standard battery. eBay as well. I heard Fortte may make a custome size case for the Bionic with the extended battery, but haven't heard back from them yet.

I did the same thing Eagle did; used to use the VZW case, switched to the Diztronic, love it.

That's the one I remember ... they're the people who do the custom stuff ... right?

(My Bionic is naked.)

Yes, and their website shows some very nice stuff for what seems to be reasonable prices. So if they can add a little more depth to accomodate the extended battery, I will be very happy.

EDIT: I should not try to type at 2am :)

At this point I would consider the Bionic an orphan.

Yes, it does seem to be and I hate that. I don't regret my decision because while the OLED screen of the Razr is nice, the ability to swap out batteries is a huge factor for me. I just don't want to end up with a "Certified Like Crap" replacement simply cause I need the battery changed. Even the Razr Maxx isn't enough to make me regret the Bionic purchase, especially since it just seemed Motorola promised we would get ICS.

I really like my Bionic from a hardware standpoint, and the software has improved. ICS alpha runs smooth, and I'm sure the official release will be great.

Unfortunately it seems a case of too little, too late. With the release of the razr and maxx, obviously Moto has moved on. So many users (including myself) got frustrated enough to buy a different handset that if I were making accessories I wouldn't have the Bionic at the top of my target list. For me it was bad enough that even though I am a longtime Moto fan and defender, I opted to try Sammy. I'm happy with the GN, but miss the solid feel of Moto.

I still have my Bionic, and if anyone wants it I would be willing to sell it. Still fun to play with, but I no longer need it.

For $12.60 the TPU case is worth trying. It's smooth and not sticky like alot of skins. And combined with a screen protector(I use the one from VZW) it's great protection.

If all I was after was simple protection I would try it. But I like to have the screen covered when not in use so as not to have accidents that could lead to the screen being scratched (and yes, I use a screen protector too, just like being careful).

I also like the pockets as I tend to put useful little notes in them when I have something I can't add into my phone immediately.
