Extended Battery

Yay!! I was talking with my wife today. I have a Hero for what looks like 3 weeks but already ordered a 2nd battery as I have ADHD and play with my phones constantly. I figured for $11, I didn't care if I only used the 2nd battery for two weeks but was hoping the battery would fit the Evo

I did, that amazing $11 deal off e-bay from Hong Kong, battery AND charger for like $11. A bunch of folks did it and were talking about it on the Sprint Hero forum a few weeks ago. So far, everyone happy with what they got.

Anyone interested, here is the thread that talked about it...

checked the link- This looks like it's going to be the first thing I buy for the Evo. Seido has a spare battery charger (w/o battery) for $30. The link has a battery charger AND a battery for $10. Even if the battery doesn't work, it's not a bad deal!

I was going to get that 3500 mah for the tp2 since the EVO share the same battery, but the thing is so big that it comes with its own back cover, and I'm pretty sure thats not compatible with the EVO

That just means the EVO will also get it's own new back cover.

I just went a head and bought the 2x battery and charge for $11.50 (w/ shipping) off ebay. Figured it was worth it, I can deal with flopping out batteries, if I ever have to (not to mention having an extra spare). Thanks for the link.

Here is the one I used:

2 1500mah Battery+Desktop Charger for Sprint HTC Hero - eBay (item 270578672380 end time Jun-12-10 12:57:41 PDT)

same one I got. Hopefully they ship it quickly.

I just bought that same set. My wife is going to get an EVO in July and I thought it would be nice for both of us to get a spare battery.

hm, thinking about getting this also.
anyone have any experience with these batteries. I'm just worried about the quality and life span since it isn't OEM or a name brand like Seidio.

Does anyone know if a TP2 battery will fit the Evo?
Yes, TP2 works with Evo.

Check out sagedil's link, there are a few other members that bought them, and love them. They couldn't tell the difference whatsoever. Even if only one of those battery's works for 3-6 months, it would be worth the $12. Throw in another battery and charger and its, totally worth the risk.

I'd rather keep the slim battery and recharge than add bulk or weight for normal use.

Be cautious with some of the unheard of brands. Unregulated input/output voltage is a common problem and not good for devices.

thanks, I might go for it.

one more question though: how long does the battery stay fully charged when not in the device? does it even loose charge overtime?

Ive left batteries charged for a couple of weeks and only lost a couple of percent.

Interested in this. 1800mah the highest that can fit with the factory back cover?

As far as I've been able to figure out it is

I picked up one of these about 1.5 months ago and it works great ...normal daily usage for me consists of:

25-30 5-7 min phone calls,
reading / responding to 5-6 emails,
online with opera browser 3-5 times
roughly 60 mins with pandora radio,

I can get 2 days usage between charges

any other options for a good 1800mah battery besides the link above?

decisions, decisions, should I get an 1800mah or 2 extra 1500mah with charger...

a good day (24 hours) is all I care about while still being able to enjoy all of the EVO's goodness. I charge every night and use my phone as an alarm clock so 2 days is not an issue. Would be nice, but not expected.
