Extended Battery

I am hoping for a solid days use out of the 1500 battery. I bought the ebay 2 pack w/ a charge today for times that I need more power, but I think everyday use I will be fine. I use we will see when more people have the device with more usage types.

I can get a full day out of my Hero with some settings tweaked a little bit. I was just afraid that since the EVO has a much larger screen it may drink a bit more juice. We'll see though. We have options though. But also, the battery is bigger in the EVO compared to the Hero.

That just means the EVO will also get it's own new back cover.

I plan to contact Seidio, to buy a battery cover for the EVO, as I already use the 3500 mAh for my hero. I should easily be able to get 2 full days of EVO usage out of that battery.

I bought the dual charger + 2 batteries myself.

I figure it like this. Charge phone and 1 battery all night. Take those with me to work. Place third battery in charger at home. That gives me 2 full batteries for my duration at work. When I get home I'll pop in a fresh battery (either #2 from work or the one charging at home) and pop the dead one into the charger.

Rinse and repeat.

I'm still considering the 1800mah battery. I'm not fond of battery changes. I'm going to wait to buy any battery to see what the stock 1500 does for me. 7am to 11pm daily is great with me as long as it will do what I want during those hours and I'll charge it up during the night. If my hours fluctuate I can throw it on the charger at work, home, or in the car.

Hmmm... given this morning's usage report (see my review thread), I'm strongly considering the Mugen 1800 battery myself.

Figured I'd do some digging about other user experiences with it, since Hero users have had it for a while.

From the other reviews, it looks like a solid winner to me!

I'm sold...ordering mine this afternoon. Thanks Bek for the links!

HOLD UP! Before you guys make any purchasing, read what I have to say...

I wouldn't recommend getting the mugen battery. I bought the mugen extended battery (1300 mAH) for my HTC HD2 2 months ago. First I seen a significant noticeble increase compared to the stock one (1250 mAh). However, after a month, my stock HD2 battery was lasting longer than the extended mugen battery. I was hoping it would at least keep up with the stock one, but, no it was not even close.. I guess that's what you get for buying a cheaper battery.

I currently have the HTC EVO Google I/O phone and the battery life is mediocre. So I suggest investing on a good reputable extended battery especially if you’re a heavy power user like me. I heard Seidio is a good battery brand (yeah they're more costly), so that’s what I’m going to get. Even if Seidio's battery is 50 mAh less than mugen’s extended battery, I bet my HTC EVO that it’s going surpass mugen’s battery by all means.
Like the saying goes, "You pay for what you get.."

Unless you made a typo, 1300 mAh isn't an extended battery, compared to 1250 mAh. If anything, that would be another stock battery.

50 mAh more.. very minor. But even if it was not an extended battery it still wasn't up to par compared to the stock battery..

Not because of the warning from d33170 (which was taken into consideration), but I decided to order Seidio's 1750mAh battery. I've done business with Seidio before and I've never had a problem. Plus, I pre-ordered the Innocase II Surface Combo in black as well...may as well keep the order from the same company.

Disregard my purchase of the Seidio 1750mAh battery, I canceled my order. I'm going to run with the stock battery for awhile.

Does mugen offer a warranty? Seidio does. I'd contact mugen, and see what they can do.

I'm not going to waste my time trying to get the battery replaced. Anyways, I'm planning to sell my HD2. T-mobile coverage sucks around where I live and I'm just sick of how glitchy and unresponsive WinMo is..

If anyone is going for that Seidio 1750 battery, Amazon has it for ten dollars cheaper than the official site

SCORE!!!!

I was debating between the Seidio & Mugen batteries. 1750 for $50 or 1800 for $32. I know Seidio and have used their hardware before and know they're solid... vs Mugen, which is a bit of an unknown to me, with conflicting but most positive reviews. But at $40, I'll take what I know.

THANKS!!

hm, thinking about getting this also.
anyone have any experience with these batteries. I'm just worried about the quality and life span since it isn't OEM or a name brand like Seidio.

Getting back to those cheap batteries from Hong Kong...

Have been using for several days. As good, if not slightly better than stock. Check all the status of each in Spare Parts and all running as they should. No issues...yet with those batteries.

Still. even on my Hero, I am using up two full batteries a day and starting on my 3rd. Will be eager to here how some of the extended batteries are fairing with the Evo.

Still, carrying around an extra battery all day is no big deal for me.

Amazon.com: Sprint HTC Hero USB Sync & Charge Cradle (with AC Charger) (w/ 2nd battery support): Cell Phones & Service (seperate charger for 20$.)

If you spend 44$ (less than the cost of a oem battery), you can get 4 batteries and a charger. I have been using two generic batteries with my samsung moment, and have had no problems. I tend to go through all 3 of my batteries (including OEM one) in a day, as they seem to only last a couple of hours. The generic seems to last way longer than the oem, however. And to all those people saying that if can mess up your phone - whats wrong with returning it to sprint, and getting a new phone? If that means not using the 24$ batteries, then so be it. But i have never had a problem with an aftermarket, non name brand battery.

I purchased the Hong Kong battery charger, I could care less about the extra batteries (I already have the Seidio) but they are nice to have.

I have purchased a mugen extended battery for my treo a few yrs ago, it was perfect with no defects. ymmv.
