external buttons for music control

I've tried searching here and google, but i can't find an answer but I know it has been asked. Is there any way to make any of the external buttons used for music control.

I've been searching for an app I saw mentioned a while back that has that configuration choice in its menus.

I think it was an out of Market app.. searching both atm. "Music Control Lite" is all I've found so far.

That would be a great app if it doesn't exist already. I hate having to hit a button to wake my screen to skip a song.

I believe Playerpro has a feature that you can make the volume controls change the track. Unfortunately it costs a few bucks but there is a trial version and it is definitely worth the money.. it's the best music player I have used so far.

Another reason I like bluetooth. I can pause, skip, ctrl volume without waking up the screen.

'Search2Play' changes your camera button to a 'play/pause' button for your music app. And I think they recently updated it so that when you long press on it, it skips a track (although I'm not positive about that).

You have to be rooted to use it though. Just one more reason to root if you haven't already.
