External SDcard and media scanner

When I moved my microSD card from my previous phone to the RAZR M, none of my photos and music show up in the Gallery and Music player respectively.

When copy from the internal SD to external SD using a file manager on the phone, the files do NOT show up.

Only when I copy music and photos thru MTP, connected to the computer, they all show up fine.

This a weird, but minor annoyance. Is there a fix for that? Do I need to reformat my SD card? Is it a MTP issue? Ever since the JB update, there's no longer a USB Mass storage option when I'm connected and the external SD card is treated very differently.

all my stuff shows up fine on my sdcard in the phone. I switched over from an EVO and it has no problems showing me my pictures and other media
