Help Facebook 1.5 - Notifications

The new Facebook 1.5 launched last night, so I updated my app. One of the changes was the addition of push notifications. However, when I turn off notifications in the settings, I still get them. I want to make sure this isn't causing battery drain.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?
 
Not working on my Evo. Stock 2.2 , rooted with Unrevoked.

I don't get ANY notifications whatsoever. Chat works when I initiate it but if one of my friends starts a chat I don't get any notification. There aren't any settings that look any different than before.
This update is half a$$ at best. Who does this kind of stuff??
 
I still get the notifications even though I don't want them. I ended up rolling back to the previous version.
 
anyone know an answer to this? trying to get the notifications to stop. i have them set to inactive but I am still getting them. It is really annoying. Any help out there?

I wish the notifications would work. FB app was never notifying me, and if it did it was extremely late. I would like it to work for messages and chat.
 
I have the exact same problem and posted it on another thread... No answer, so far. Also, when there is a new notification, the same notification remains at the bottom of the page (in red #) even after you read the messages. You have to read it several times to get it to disappear.
 
I noticed that the notifications are really buggy. Sometimes they're instant and other times they don't come in til I go into the app. Then when I clear them they still show up. Hopefully the next release fixes this.
 
lol this is crazy...those of us that want the notifications don't get them those that do get them.

for giggles..log on to facebook on pc/laptop

click on account, account settings, notifications...make sure everything is turned off

also click on mobile and see what is there...on mine there is no info/ a place to add a phone

at the bottom of some of these screens click on apps and settings... then edit settings
look for htc sense and windows phone and edit the settings there. even consider deleting the specific app (it will just read next time you log on)

again my settings within the facebook app on the phone are
interval:never
notifications:active
messages
friend requests
event invites all three are checked

I get a notification when someone sends me a message but that's it ...
