I don't know if this is ALL Evo's or just mine..I'm looking for some validation either way. I would appreciate it if you all could help.
In my Facebook app (v1.50), any time I click on an embedded video that is NOT a YouTube video my stock Evo automatically launches the HTC Streaming Media player (v1.00) and after a few seconds promptly gives me the message, "Sorry, this video cannot be played". I know that I can go to the full web version and play these videos using the browsers built in flash.
I should mention that I have no problems playing any other videos on Youtube or anything embedded in websites (while using my browser Dolphin HD) or any video files on my sd card.
My questions is, do all Evo's exhibit this behavior? I've tried a T-Mobile Vibrant and a Sprint Epic and both work fine . Clicking on a non Youtube embedded video on these phones opens the built in streamer/video player and seems to work just fine.
I also tried this on an HTC Incredible. What this does from within the Facebook app. is automatically load the Internet browser and goes to the full Facebook web version and plays the file from within the browsers flash capabilities. I would even be happy if I could at least just get mine to do that.
I loaded DoubleTwist just to see what it would do. Now when I click on an embedded video (non YouTube in Facebook app 1.50) it gives me the option to play in the HTC Media Streamer or DoubleTwist. If I choose DoubleTwist I get the same error (Sorry, this video cannot be played)
Do you all see this same behavior?
Is there any way to make my phone jump to the full Facebook web version when clicking on a video link?
Is there anything I can install that will allow my built in streamer to play these files correctly (an update perhaps)?
I've searched and searched an cannot seem to find anything. It seems like if this were a common issue people would be talking about it.
Thanks for any help. Even if I could just find out if any other phones do this it would be appreciated.
