antoher point of confusion is that we have 2 facebooks. one for htc sense and one as a standalone app... meh...

The HTC sense one is just the friend stream app addon as well as camera app add on...

this update is ONLY for the actual official Facebook app itself.

lol, oh, sorry! Well i thought i was getting everything... seems it's new friend requests, comments on posts, and messages.

Works exactly as my blackberry bold does now and i tend to get notifications through to both phones simultaneously.

Went back to stock from the RCMixHD ROM and still nothing

I get the "1 New Message" notification but its not a message its someone replaying to my status, so thats misleading straight away!

So deleting the data from the Facebook for Sense app will have no effect if I am not using Friend Stream?

It will delete the links between your contacts and Facebook

I cant remember what the old one looked like... but it has a notifications option and notification settings'which allow you to choose what facebook will push to your phone.

I've been using f-plus facebook tool to push comments, likes, etc. Nice tool.

Must change from rom to rom because mine is like yours, except I have the added in red above option too.

Maybe because I use facebook for android to sync as I dont have HTC sense.

Yeah, it doesn't show this on the stock ROM but when using the HD port it does allow sync...

Still don't understand why none of us have push notifications. Just stick with email notifications for now then.

This is the sort of thing I really miss on my blackberry. The ability to intercept email notifications and translate them into the application.

You'd have thought google would have done a better job with it.
