Help Facebook sync solution (needed) [Root]

Hey guys, long time listener, first time caller etc.

Got my Gnex rooted and running CM9 Kang, with Trinity Kernal. Everything is going lovely, apart from the obvious ICS problem with synchronising Facebook contacts with the people app.

I know people have had success with flashing Modaco's rom, however I like my setup at the moment. Is there a way to add synching functionality to my current rom without having to install another?
 
I had haxsync before, I'm looking to actually enable the official facebook sync. Has anyone found a way to flash that capability into a rom?
 
CM9 doesn't have it? It should CM7 has it and that was one of the things they purposely fixed when google removed that functionality in gingerbread.

Try uninstalling facebook and downloading it again from the market.
 
Im running AOKP M3 and with the stock Facebook app from the Marketplace I got all my contacts to sync just fine. There were a few duplications but that's happened to me on every phone when I've synced Facebook...

Same setup as you and I can't do it for some reason

For duplicate contacts just pick one -> menu -> edit -> menu -> join -> choose the duplicate. Then the duplicates will be merged into 1 contact on your list and all the info combined
