it should have gave you that option the first time you open the application. but in case you missed it -
click the "Facebook" label on the top left ==> click the phone menu button ==> settings ==> scroll down to "Other Settings" ==> click Sync Contacts

No change there then!

He has the same problem as me. The Sync is turned ON but its not displaying on the phone.

I haven't had any problems with mine syncing pictures.
Are your contacts linked to Facebook, you may need to manually connect some of them
In contacts choose a contact, in the contact details if their Facebook profile isn't listed you need to manually link them. Menu -> edit contact -> menu -> join, then select their Facebook profile. I had to do that for about 5 of my contacts, the rest synced on their own.
