Facebook - Update

I asked before but never got an answer. When you sync contacts through this facebook app your friends picture doesn't come up in contacts???

I guess you have to stick with the htcFacebook sync with friendstream for that?
 
Howdy,
When I click on photos in the main menu for the new Facebook update it'll show my albums but the only pics I'm able to see is my profile pics and Mobile uploads. I have 4 other albums showing but it says no photos found.

Any ideas ??

So when I loaded this up with syncing contacts, it was constantly awake. I turned off sync, no more problems. I never tried this with the one previous to 1.3.1 but it works fine now when I do it this way.

I am having the same problem. I used to sync on the older version (1.2) and this was not a problem...also if sync is on now, i get a force close when clicking friends
 
I didn't stick with the 1.3 update long enough to determine battery life. My complaint is in previous versions, if you opened your news feed via the widget, then hit menu you had the options to go "Home" or "Refresh." In 1.3 it was only "Refresh" and you had to go open the app itself from the launcher to get to the home menu.

Did I miss something, or is that still the way it is? I'll update if the battery issue is fixed and you can go Widget->News Feed->Home somehow.
 
Yes, from the news feed, you tap the facebook logo in the upper left corner, and it takes you to Home.

To get back to the main screen all you do this press the "Facebook" logo at the top.

And there you have it. I'm a dipshit. Actually, I was guilty of rage-quitting when it didn't do what I was used to it doing.

LOL! It's okay, we've all done that at some point.

Yes, the update seems to have fixed the partial wake problem. My phone is sleeping like a baby now :)

for FC on friends....DONT USE SYNC. also open friends and leave the phone alone. like set it down and let it load the friends list. Then once it does that close out. it will take a moment for bigger friends lists to load i found. that fixed the FC for me

So glad the active issue appears fixed. According to System Panel, it went to the inactive list approx 5 mins after exciting.
I think im one of the few that likes thevnew interface.
 
I was having issues. Applied the update this morning and launched FB then "home screen'ed" out of it. Been popping in and out several times today and the phone is sleeping correctly.

Looks like the newest update is working for me.
 
Question for you guys....

I did a search and couldn't find anything (I could have looked in the wrong places). I got my INC last night and I imported my contacts from Verizon's website. That was easy and I went and set up Facebook and Facebook for HTC. I waited until this morning to download the new Facebook app and my phone appears to be functioning without any issues. I went to go sync up my contacts and in the facebook app and I told it to sync up with my existing contacts. My people list was showing all of their information and pictures, which is what I wanted.

Well, I go to make a call today and notice that there are a hell of a lot more people in there because of facebook. Is there any way to remove those people, so I don't have to actually click on the people tab to make a call?

Open PEOPLE.

Click MENU

Click VIEW

Uncheck Facebook.

Worked for me.

I did that earlier and it worked perfectly. My issue is when I push the phone button on the home screen. There are people listed in there from Facebook, that I do not have in my "People" folder. Is there anyway to delete those unwanted contacts in the phone button? Or is there a way to have my people folder automatically come up when I push the "phone" button on the home screen?

reboot made the fb app work properly for me, too. no more battery drain after reboot. perhaps all the code changes don't kick in until the phone is rebooted (my battery was still draining after update and prior to reboot)?
 
is it not showing facebook pics in messages for anyone else? looks like its not syncing with my contacts correctly. also friends still force closes it.
 
I have the HTC Incredible, and ALLLLLLL of my friends are pretty much synced into the People function of the phone. Any way I can undo this? I have un-checked 'Sync Contacts' from the Accounts and Sync option of the Settings menu. I really dont need 700 peoples numbers in my phone.


EDIT: I've unchecked Facebook from my View in the People App, but when I hit Phone, where it automatically shows the dialer, there's a bunch of my Facebook friends listed. Anyway to remove this? Is it possible to just completely remove any part of Facebook from my People or Phone app? It's kinda annoying...and just a tad bit on the creepy side.
 
My phone is also not going to sleep after a reboot and the second upgrade. Can someone tell me how to revert back to version 1.2? When I click uninstall updates, it seems to revert me back to the original version.
 
How are you guys getting the new update to work? I installed and rebooted and the phone still wouldn't sleep...i had to go back to 1.2 again.
